The trends that have been developing and changing the livelihood, mode of trade and work in the contemporary society are the technology and cryptocurrency. Contemporary technology has made agriculture more productive, precise, lucrative, and the use of drones, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain. The use of smart sensors has enabled farmers to monitor the moisture level of soil, temperature and crop health in real-time. This kind of data-driven approach allows irrigation, application of pest control and fertilizers in time and in sequence so as to reduce the level of waste and maximize the returns. Autonomation of the process of tractors and other equipment has also been introduced to enable farmers spend less time and energy and the satellite imagery and GPS mapping can help them plan and monitor their farms.

The agricultural industry is also starting to be affected by cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Blockchain technology offers food supply chain transparency and traceability i.e. farm to table and ensures consumers are aware of their food source and quality. It minimizes the corruption and fraud in transactions through the recording of each action which is safe and permanent. Cryptocurrencies have also created new opportunities enabling farmers to be paid immediately without using the traditional banking system that may take a long time to issue the payment and at high costs.

Furthermore, farmers have new sources of funds, and this is because of crypto innovations. Decentralized finance (DeFi), also allows small-scale farmers to obtain loans and investments without involving intermediaries and allows them to financially boost their operations. Farmers are now being rewarded with tokens on some agricultural projects to adopt green farming by following environmental friendly practices.

To conclude, technology and cryptocurrency as a combination are transforming the agricultural sector. It helps to maximize productivity, guaranteeing transparency and provide farmers around the world with new financial opportunities. With these innovations ever increasing, the agricultural sector will be more integrated, efficient, and inclusive to guarantee future food security and sustainability.
