Israel Adesanya takes on Yoel Romero (UFC 248)
UFC 248 presents a Middleweight title bout between Israel "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya and Yoel "Soldier of God" Romero.
This will be an interesting match up between two fighters with very different styles, hence why it will be an intriguing and must-see fight. Yoel Romero is an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling who uses his power and explosiveness to catch his opponents off guard. Israel Adesanya is an elite kick-boxer who has demonstrated the highest level of striking within the UFC.
Israel Adesanya has only been in the UFC for 2 years and has already become the UFC middleweight champion. Fans have been saying to put him against Yoel Romero from early on, assuming he wouldn't be able to cope with the explosiveness and wrestling of Romero. As Israel has actually chosen to fight Romero as Paulo Costa who won against Romero in a controversial decision has become injured and could not fight for at least 6 months.
Why would Israel Adesanya choose to fight someone like Yoel Romero who might possibly be stylistically one of the worser match ups for Adesanya?
Israel Adesanya wants to cement his legacy and prove everyone wrong that doubted him, thus he has chosen to fight one of the scariest fighters in the middleweight division. He is aiming to prove a point.
All in all, this should be a great fight, if you are interested in MMA this is a fight you can't miss. UFC 248 also has a Women's Strawweight title bout between Zhang Weili and Joanna Jedezejczyk
I can't wait for this fight!! I love Adesanya he is such an amazing fighter, his technique and skill is second to none in my opinion.
I hope he wins, and does it in style, he is definitely destined to be the next big UFC star, and a possibly combat sports poster boy.
Also the Weili Zhang/Joanna fight on the same card interests me, I like Weili too, she's a little pocket rocket! :)

What a shame! Such a lacklustre fight. The way Romero just stood stock still for the majority of the 1st round, and Adesanya just throwing feints.
To be honest, I thought Izzy looked nervous in the build up, and also standing in the Octagon before the fight.
Hopefully the Costa fight will be better, if not, it will seriously damage his stock.
Please keep posting @dplus, I'm hoping to get some delegation to vote up all contributors, but the madness going on has stalled that somewhat.
