Greetings to you all and welcome to my post today. Indeed, I am so excited to have you here reading through my post which I have talked about how election in Nigeria is being done. It is through the conduct of election that political leaders are nominated in Nigeria.

NIGERIA is a country that is based on democratic system of government, which is simply government for the people by the people. This simply means the to elect someone into public office such as president, senator, governor, house of representative, local government chairman and so on most be done via the conduct of Election since the end of military rule in 1999.
Since 1999 my country NIGERIA have been conducting election which done has never been free and fair. People will come out in their masses to vote for their prefer candidate but at the end of the day INEC which is the body in charge of Electoral functions would rig the election in favor of the ruling party. Election in Nigeria is purely based on rigging, fighting and killing of one another in other to attain Power. To sum up it all, I think election in Nigeria should be canceled (scrap) until Nigerians are ready to conduct a peaceful free and fair election because done has been held since 1999 after the end of military rule.
As for on 25 February 2023 general election were held to elect the president vice president and members of the Senate and House of Representatives which was not done in a free and fair manner.

The electoral system which is INEC is the most correct system that we have in Nigeria. To me the system is totally corrupt, and I think the electoral act should be chance or the system should be cancelled completely. NIGERIA government should come up with another electoral system since INEC Independent national electoral commission can't conduct a peaceful and fair Election.

In Nigeria, election are done in different stages such as:
- Pre-election
- Primary election
- Nomination
- Campaign
- Accreditation
- Producing Ballot Papers and other Polling Material
- Voting
- Collation or counting the votes and
- Result Announcement
Pre-election stage: This is the first stage where all interested candidates have to purchase political form from their respective party.
Primary election: This is the stage is done in a such a way that candidates for political office intending to run on the platform of a political party must compete in both the screening and primary elections of the party. One candidate will be selected by the party members to represent the party. While this stage is going on, registration of voters card is also going on.
Nominations stage During this stage, party will then send their chosen candidate to INEC for registration and document as contained in the Constitution of Nigeria.
Campaigning: This is the stage where all political parties are free to advertise themselves to the public by telling deceiving the masses to vote for them.
Voting, Collation and announcement of result Voting is usually done on Saturday and on the day of voting all those with their voters' card would be allowed to go out to their respective polling units and vast their vote for their political candidate. However, in this stage at some places we do hear bad news and other form of undisciplined like vote buying.
When voting is over, Collation of results is done and transmitted to INEC, who will then announce the winners.

No, it is not transparent and fair in my country, Nigeria. Starting from the first stages to the last stage of election in Nigeria is rigged and corrupted. Since I was born nor in 1999 when Nigeria begin election we have never witnessed a free and fair presidential election and others.
👉🏾 Assume there's no fairness and effectiveness as far as elections are concerned, what solutions can you propose to ensure it's being carried out the right way |

The solution that I would propose to ensure election is being carried out the right way is Electronic Voting (E-Voting). Regarding this, electronic voting is the method of voting that can change a crucial democratic process, malpractice stealing and killing of voters at the Polly units. With electronic voting, Election will be carried out the right way.

It is very unfortunate, the people's voice should be protected, not manipulated and the loser is the state, hopefully in the future there will be clean and fair elections.
You have explained in great detail about the elections in your country. By the way, in my opinion, e-voting still has room for fraud. Good luck for the contest. I have also participated in this contest.
