My Actifit Report Card: May 12 2022

We woke to s pleasantly cool morning for a change. Lulu and I changed our morning routine with a couple of miles up in the forest before heading to Copper Basin Wash instead of our usual loop around the local area.

The Aspen Creek Trail is a popular route and even though narrow the footing is good and there's lots of pretty scenery and usually quite s few birds around (plus the occasional squirrel or even deer). Today the wild Lupines were in full bloom to add some nice color to the dry landscape.

After a few dry and dirty hours digging through the Wash for gold (and letting Lulu explore a bit) I was ready for sn afternoon walk.

I was happy to get out by myself so that I could pick up the pace snd put in some "quality" miles. It would be great if they were jogging or even running miles but my progression towards running any sort of distance is agonizingly slow. The coming Summer heat won't help but hopefully next year we'll have moved on to a nicer spot for Summer such as South Dakota or Montana.
