My Actifit Report Card: September 20 2020
My son and I played a tough eighteen basket disc golf course this morning. It was going pretty well until the island hole where my son missed a throw. (I had missed several prior to that but was still feeling pretty good.)
Our moods went downhill a few holes later when my son missed some throws rather badly. Sometimes when you start throwing badly your throws can go from bad to worse because you are scrambling around in really hard locations off the fairway. That was the case today when he hit a branch and turned the disc way over to the right and it fell down in a tree and bush covered slope.
We searched for a long time but could not find it.
A couple holes later on another throw my son put a disc in another sloped tree, bush and deep grass covered area. We searched for that one for some time and another disc golfer came by and helped us.
He ended up finding a nice disc while helping us but it was not my son's. Shortly after that I ended up finding my son's disc in the deep grass. So at least we did not lose two discs.
Here's a picture I took today of what it looked like on the course:
I like the old baskets that they left in place here. Many of them are quite unique.
Here's a picture of the new disc that I found on the course today:
This one was right on the fairway on hole one. I called the owner and a very sleepy voice answered. He told me to keep the disc since he was not from the area and lost it on vacation. I had the feeling he was back East somewhere and it was much earlier there so I apologized for waking him up. He said it was alright.
I'm pretty excited to throw this new disc, I have a lot of Westside discs and I like them a lot. I'm starting to carry way too many discs in my bag again though, so I will need to figure out which ones to take out for reserve.
My son ended up finding another disc too from somebody local so we will try to arrange to get that back to them.
