My Actifit Report Card: December 31 2021
Last day of a challenging year. Just got to do what I have been doing the last 6 months. Ride the bike and look for orchids
The national park is busy. I have found it safest to go down from our side and climb out the other side. First stop to photograph a large tongue orchid
I never tire of this view down to Apple Tree Bay
Found the passenger before he found me. Surprised me as I was well above the rainforest
Found a rose hyacinth orchid in a new spot
Stopped up top to look for midge orchids - found a variegated hyacinth orchid exactly where I parked the bike
Dipodium variegatum
Love the deeper burgundy colour
Did find Rupp's Midge Orchid now fully open - corunastylis ruppii
Walked a long way down the track - found a few bonnet orchids in new spots
Cryptostylis erecta
Found another variegated hyacinth orchid
Time to turn back and check on brittle midge orchids.
Found another cryptostylis hunteriana. This orchid spotting has its turns - never find an orchid in 6 years on the same tracks and find 2 in a week
Brittle midge orchids were flowering this time last year - not yet
Patersonia iris flowering late
Loved the shadow on this flower pushing out in the track
Good to end the year with a ride on a sunny day
Made it home. Mowed the lawns for the last time in 2021. Fitbit made me chuckle - Fitbit classified that as a bike ride
Dinner: Spanish mackerel Mediterranean style. I did it a little differently to last time. Made the rich tomato sauce. Seared and cooked the fish in a fry pan till it was basically cooked through. Then poured the sauce over the fish. Way better.
We stayed up late to watch Sydney fireworks. Happy New Year
