Interval Run and "Magic Mile"

With beautiful spring temperatures around +15 degrees Celsius, I was pulled outside for an interval run. Several intervals of 300 m with walking breaks in between strengthen the muscles and increase the speed.

I also dared to run the so-called "Magic Mile". You are supposed to run one mile (about 1.6 km) as fast as possible at about 90% of your maximum heart rate. It's quite strenuous, but ultimately very good for the whole organism and improves running economy and endurance for a higher pace in the long term.

Bei herrlichem Frühlingstemperaturen um die +15 Grad Celsius zog es mich nach draußen für einen Intervall Lauf. Mehrere Intervalle von 300 m mit Trabpausen dazwischen stärken die Muskeln und das Tempo.

An die sogenannte "Magic Mile" traute ich mich auch heran. Man soll bei ca. 90% der maximalen Herzfrequenz eine Mile, also ca. 1,6 km so schnell wie möglich laufen. Das strengt ziemlich an, tut aber letztendlich dem gesamten Organismus sehr gut und verbessert langfristig die Laufökonomie und die Ausdauer für ein höheres Tempo.
