A wonderful day to all in Saturday Memories, especially @olga.maslievich, thank you so much for giving us the chance here always and with your flashmob, where we could able to share our best travel goals in the past.

This happened last March 01, 2020 when my friends invited me to San Vicente Sanctuary Olango Island- Philippines. This was very my unforgettable summer of 2020 because it was my first summer adventure of the month but who would have thought that it was also the last summer outing for us before the pandemic hits around the world.

From Mactan Newtown, we rode a tricycle going to Angasil Port for a minimum fare of 20 PHP or 0.40 USD. From Angasil Port, we paid a boat ticket going to Olango Island with a fare of 30 PHP or 0.60 USD and a terminal fee of 10 PHP or 0.20 USD. We rode a boat from Angasil Port going to Olango Port for about 20-30 mins. From Olango port, we rode tricycle again going to San Vicente Marine Sanctuary with a minimum fare of 20 PHP or 0.40 USD. The moment we arrived the place, it was so wow!!! Besides the very accommodating and approachable staffs, I was really amazed by the environment. The greenery and the beautiful scenery that I couldn't had imagine that time. But before we started it all, we had to be discussed by them of what would be the do's and don'ts while in the area, in order to preserve the sanctuary as well as the island.

After we finished the small discussions, we proceed to some grilling of foods for our lunch. We had to cook foods just along the entrance ground, not along the beach and it's a must, to protect the sanctuary from any toxic waste that could harm the environment.

From the entrance ground, we had to walk with this for about 500 meters long hanging boardwalk through the mangroves to be able to go to our cottage. This was a bit scary especially to a person like me who's not able to swim and afraid of deeps. 😂🙊 Yes, I really love beaches and all, but when talking about deeps for more than 5 feet, please don't bring me there, or else, we're both to be drown, ahahaha.

But the fact that I wanted to try to jump deeps that time, I just ended like this, loved seeing the beautiful scenery and the people who's been enjoying along the way, since I could not able to be in the water because of my monthly dues that time, well you know, woman having monthly problem all the time, hehehehe.

You can also rent a bike if you want to enjoy and roam around the whole place.

If I could turn on my time machine now, I would go back for those wonderful days before pandemic hits. But despite of what happened these days, it's just so nice to reminisce all the good and wonderful memories go back in time, where in fact, that we're not over it yet. Being in the best place with the good buddies is very hard to forget.

I am also inviting my friends @saneunji, @jenny018, @mariarosa27, @aziel29 to drop your unforgettable memories also.

Thank you for taking time to read my unforgettable summer. Stay safe all. Have a great day ahead.

Your travel lady,
@hae-ra
