Hello Beautiful women and lady, how are you doing? Hope everyone is fine. I'm here to share my special meal which I like preparing at home. It's Bean porridge with potatoes. Porridge is very rich in nutrients and also tasty, especially when combined with some fresh vegetables.
However, bean is one meal most people do not like mostly because of the gas problem and other related reactions. But that doesn't alter the fact that it's has many health benefits. It is a good source of protein and fibre, it helps bowel movements and digestion among others. While potatoes on the other hand, is an edible tubers which are available globally and all year long. We have different method in preparing this delicious meal, which ever, method that suits you ensure you strain the first water from the bean after boiling for like 5mins because of insecticide that are been used in preserving these beans which are not healthy to human consumption and health most time. Also the per-cooking process will help to reduce the gas inducing elements. So let's proceed with the cooking right away.

THESE ARE THE ITEMS FOR COOKING THE BEANS PORRIDGE

RECIPES/INGREDIENTS NEEDED
3 cups of white or brown beans
Sweet potatoes( desired quantity)
Fresh pepper and onions🌶
Crayfish🍤
Salt to taste
2 seasoning maggi cube
Palm oil
Pumpkin leaves or uziza leaves🥗

Here is the process that I'm using in preparing this porridge, I will be using brown beans.

METHOD
Step 1: First of all, wash your beans properly in cold water then boil for 5mins and strain the water. Then pour another water into the beans and put it in the fire to boil again.
Step 2: Then peel and chop your onions then add together with a little salt to the boiling beans. I didnt put all the onion in this step.
Step 3: Then peel and dice your potatoes into small cube size and set aside.

THE POTATOES ARE ALREADY PEELED

Step 4: wash and blend your fresh pepper then set aside.

THE FRESH PEPPER IS WELL BLEND

Step 5: wash and slice your vegetables and set aside.
Step 6: wash your crayfish and set aside too.

THE VEGETABLES ARE WELL SLICED

Step 7: when the beans become soft, add crayfish, salt, blended pepper, seasoning cube and the rest onion.

AFTER ADDING PEPPER AND ONIONS

I like putting oil when I want to put the potatoes on it, after that allow the ingredients to cook properly for about 5mins. At this stage, some people especially those with kids like to mash the beans with the cooking spoon until it thicken.
Step 8: then add diced potatoes and palm oil then cover it.

AFTER ADDING POTATOES AND PALM OIL

Step 9: when the potatoes are soft, then turn the beans from the bottom with a spatula/ Eba turn, don't use spoon so that it won't get burn.
Step 10: then add your vegetables (pumpkin leaves) and turn it again. You can taste it to know what the salt is balanced.

AFTER ADDING VEGETABLES

Then remove from fire immediately so that the vegetables will not loose it's nutrients. I like the vegetables to be fresh. And your yummy beans porridge is ready to be serve🥣.

THE BEANS PORRIDGE IS READY

Best served hot or warm🍽. I don't like it to be too cold. Eat and chill with any drink of your choice. I'm drinking a glass of water🥛 because no money on ground...Lol🤣 This is delicious meal that I so much love eating😋
