Hello! Great steemians in STEEM women's community. It's another wonderful day to have a beautiful chet chat. It's been a bit unfortunate that I haven't been active for a while due to pressing issues but from now I promise to do my best to be regular as well as preach the gospel of steem.
Today will no doubt be the regular post,
While scrolling on my facebook newsfeed I saw something that really thrilled me in the hammer tribe
Ofcourse we know our dear Africa is embedded with so many fascinating tribes and religion and I'll like to know your take on this, is it tribe or trash?
In an Ethiopian tribe in the hammer culture women about to be married will be flogged on the bag till her back becomes bloody and she's not permitted to cry if not it shows that she's no ready. In fact I learnt that sometimes the lady begs for more just to prove her love and dedication for her fiance and they are soooo proud of their scars even looking down on those who refuse being flogged😲you can imagine!

That's just the tip of the iceberg, hamar has got some other tribal stuffs you might never have known like the division of labour between the Male and female gender and the tradition of their men who who jump over 15 to 30 bulls naked to prove they are ready and mature for marriage and are officially mazas. Least I forget the the women are married at very early ages but their husbands usually get upto 30 years if not more before marriage leaving many women widows
Theres just so much to learn and know about other tribes so what's your take on this; would you call it tribe or trash to be flogged mercilessly just to prove your love?

I wouldn't even think twice to deny and change my culture😂.
