I Answer the Challenge with My Patterned Roll Cake Recipe
Hello dear ladies of the Steem Women community.
Today I will share a recipe to answer the challenge of my friend @tugcenindolabi.
Tuğçe shared a very nice recipe. I hope I can create a post as successful as him.
I prepared a patterned roll cake to present to you. I think you will like this recipe that I tried for the first time.
Necessary materials for patterned roll cake:
For the sponge cake:
- 4 eggs
- 1 finger missing sugar from 1 glass of water
- One finger missing from 1 glass of flour
-1 teaspoon of baking powder
-1 packet of vanilla
Also:
- 2 teaspoons of flour (for the pattern)
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa
for cream
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 heaping tablespoon of flour
- 1 heaping tablespoon of starch
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla
- 75 g margarine or butter
- 1 pack of whipped cream
Between
- 1 banana
I first started applying my recipe by drawing on wax paper.
After preparing the greaseproof paper, I prepared the sponge cake dough.
First, I separated the yolk and white of the eggs. I beat the egg white until foamy. Then I continued whisking, adding the yolks one by one.
I added more sugar and kept beating until all the sugar had dissolved. I added flour, vanillin and baking powder respectively. And I whipped the dough nicely.
I separated 5-6 tablespoons of dough from the dough I prepared. I added two tablespoons of flour to the dough I separated and whisked it well.
I added cocoa to the remaining dough and whisked it well. Thus, I obtained two colors of sponge cake.
With the help of a teaspoon, I placed the white paste over the lines on the wax paper. I placed the cocoa paste in the gaps formed. Actually, I wanted to get a giraffe pattern. However, my drawing was not good enough. I hope to get a better result on my next try.
I cooked the sponge cake I prepared in a preheated 190 degree oven in 8 - 9 minutes.
While the cake was baking, I prepared the cream.
I put milk, flour, starch, vanilla and sugar in a saucepan and cooked until it reached the consistency of pudding. When I turned off the stove, I added butter to it and whipped it with a mixer. When the initial temperature of the cream passed, I added whipped cream and whipped it well with the help of a mixer.
When the cake came out of the oven, I immediately wrapped it in a roll. Thus, it was easier for the cake to take the shape of a roll.
I kept the cake like this for a while. Then I opened the cake and spread the cream I prepared on the cake. I placed one banana on it and rolled the cake again.
This is how I prepared the roll cake.
We have to keep the cake in the fridge overnight, but I sliced it to take a photo and it got full marks from my husband even as it is.
Note: After drawing on greaseproof paper, lay the reverse side on the tray. Thus, the part you draw will not come into contact with the dough.
