Hello guys, Today I had a Little walk in my town purposely to share with you the nature of our market place. The market place here always take place on Thursday and during this time, marketers from villages around come to join the town people to sell their items.

But something caught my attention when I got to the market place. Which concerns activities of women in the market place. I saw most of the women doing the selling and a few men around. Satchet water sellers, jewelry sellers, boxers and pant sellers, cart pushers,yam and cassava sellers and a whole lot. Most of these activities are done by women. They are sitting and standing in the hot sun whilst selling. Everyone has an activity he or she is performing here. Buying, selling and others are even doing nothing here. That is the nature of our market place.

The first women I saw was the jewelry woman. She hawks with the jewelries in a hot metal pan. Some of the items in are gold and aluminum watches, chains, afro comb, baby powder and oil. They mostly take their items from wholesales and their profits may be 0.45 steem and 1 steem which they manage for a capital. A chain can cost 2.25 steem which is ¢5.

A yogurt, ice cream and fanice seller. I stopped him to buy some to cool down on a hot sun. He sells by riding on this bicycle with the items in the white thing. He sells it together when doughnuts. I bought yogurt for 0.45 steem . With the same 0.45 steem I bought doughnut. So together I spent 0.90 steem.

This is a drink often sold with ice. The locals call it "ilewoyo". Best served with ice. It tastes like coca cola drink. Some sell it with tea bread. It is good on a hot sun. With 0.90 steem you will get drink and bread.

This woman carries for money. Depending on the load, she charges you. We call them the "kayayo" people . They are common in the market to help people carry their luggage. At times the woman can charge 2.25 steem if she will walk for long.

Bedsheets and pillow cases. This we see here in a pan are napkins. The one who sells it hawks with it. When she gets tired then she keeps it on a chair and sells. Napkins can cost 0.90 steem and bedsheets depending on the size some cost 8.98 steem.

This woman sells material prints, GTP prints and local prints. She hawks with it in the market. She also carries a small child at her back. A yard of the material costs 6.74 steem.

Woman selling toothpaste under an umbrella with buyers at her side. She doesn't hawk with it. She sells pepsodent, colgate, charlie,moringa toothpaste etc. Toothpaste costs 2.25 steem to 4.49 steem

Woman selling brassiere, pant and boxers under her umbrella in the sun. She also sells vests. She sells it with her daughter. Most of the women in this market wear another cloth to cover their dress. Locally ,we call it "selewa" . The pant, brassiere and boxers range from 0.45 to 4.49 steem because they are second hand products.

This is the first man I spotted. He was carrying carpet and polythene. He also walks through the market selling. A single rubber polythylene will cost 4.49 steem.

This is where food is sold. Man buying fried yam. Actually, the woman who sells it sells rice,beans with gari also. The locals love it because it doesn't cost much. With 2.25 steem you can get rice together with gari and beans with fried plantain.

It has been a hot sun Thursday. When you visit our market you will see how people strive to make earns means. In the hot sun. Still they pray and hope that they can make something to go home.
