God day lovely people, I want to say a very big thank you to @bigsamm for organizing such a wonderful contest. Steemit has had a lot of impact on my life in various aspects of life especially educating me. I wish to use this contest to also show people about the cultural heritage in the northern part of Ghana.

The way we dress is very important in our social life because it goes a long way to show your identity.
My favourite wear is and will always be a smock. Let me tell you something small about the smock.

The smock is originally used in the northern parts of ghana. The people of the north call it fugu, bana etc depending on their language. It is mostly worn by chiefs. It is made from hand wooven strips. Its a combination of both dyed and plain strips. The strips are sewed together with their hand and in rare cases using a sewing machine. The neck of the smock is always given an embroidery design.

I wear my smock 'fugu' for all occasions especially church, weddings, funerals, lectures and many others. Its always best for any occasion. Due modernisation smocks are now available for females too.

In conclusion i love the smock because whenever i wear i feel so original and a good sense of belonging. It portrays our rich cultural history.
