Portrait in the sauce technique. Портрет в технике соуса
It seemed a little surprising to me that the interest aroused by the sauce works exhibited in my feed. Today I am publishing the stages of work on the portrait made in this technique.

I usually work on thick cardboard, because otherwise the paper will curl from moisture. The main spots are applied with a brush, but it is better to make a pencil sketch beforehand in order to navigate the geometry of the drawing.
Обычно я работаю на плотном картоне, потому что иначе бумага будет скручиваться от влаги. Основные пятна наносятся кистью, но предварительно лучше сделать набросок карандашом, чтобы ориентироваться в геометрии рисунка.
After the base dries, you can finish the fine details with dry sauce. These are crayons, they are dry, but have some viscosity. It's a pleasure to draw with them, even softer than sanguine or pastel.
После того, как основа высохнет, можно доделать тонкие детали сухим соусом. Это мелки, они сухие, но обладают некоторой вязкостью. Рисовать ими одно удовольствие, даже мягче чем сангиной или пастелью.
This is quite beautiful but personally, I would have preferred the second picture to be the finished work. It makes a lot of sense to me when it's not carry so much details like you've given in the final stage but all the same, you've done a great job!
