Know That Every Moment Counts
There are moments that, if missed, may not reoccur again in the same way. This is the reason you have to value moment because it counts. While you are hoping for the future, you should not overlook the present moment. The truth is, it is how you utilise and maximise the moment that will tell how your future will be. For each moment that comes, there is always an opportunity that is attached to it. It is when you utilise the moment that you will be able to take advantage of the opportunity.
No matter how great your future looks like, the truth still remains that it must pass through the moment. What becomes of your future is largely dependent on how you have utilized your present moment. It is worthy to note that it is the collection and summation of the present moments that give birth to the future moment. You do not have to sacrifice your today in the hope to get the future. Remember this popular adage:
A bird at hand is worth more than the one in the bush
"A bird at hand" in this context stands for the present moment, and it holds value and goes to create the kind of tomorrow you desire. When you value every moment, you will learn to make the most out of it. Valuing every moment starts with valuing time itself. Obviously, time is the currency that every moment is valued in. If you waste time, you will waste the moment, but if you utilise time, then you have gained the moment.
As much as every moment counts, we should also understand that everyone counts too. That is, no one is of less importance and everyone that you meet is there for a reason. As a matter of fact, part of what matters in a moment is how you relate with people. Just to let you know; people are part of the moment and should be valued as such. You will agree with me that no matter what you want to do or achieve, you must meet people and their input will be part of what you will require for your success.
Any action you take in the moment will present with its consequence in the future. This is the singular reason extra care should be taken as regards each moment. The guarantee of the next moment is a resultant effect of how well you utilise the present moment. You will agree with me that it was a sum-total of the actions of the past that charted a course for the present moment. In the same way, the actions of the present moment will set a precedence and will chart the course for the future.
You may not be able to alter the actions that took place in the past but you have an ample opportunity to effectively utilise the present moment in order to secure the kind of future you want. Most times, what people say does not matter is part of what matters the most at the moment. It is always said that "the future that will be great must be built from today."
Moments that should hold value and matter more in the life of people include; but not limited to; the moment when you help others, the moment when you are a blessing to others, the moment when you have the opportunity to make sacrifices for people (especially those that cannot afford them), the moment when necessity is laid on you to conquer a particular flaw, the moment when you have the proclivity to provide salvation to a friend or family. Yes, all these are very important but there also remains on that is often overlooked, and that is the moment when you show mercy to an offender or spare an enemy. So you see, every moment actually matters and should be optimized well.
