#club5050 Good Vibrations

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

Surprisingly even regular visitors don't stay till closing time in The Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew in London, England. However I did and I captured a fantastic sunset. One of many I have seen here in the gardens which are within an easy ride on an overground train from my place.

The huge metal structure which you see reflecting the golden light of the setting sun is called the Hive. This piece of art is designed by Wolfgang Buttress. The installation lets you listen to honeybees communicating to the colony against the honeycomb they reside on. 'Waggle dance' is the busy bees signature move.

An accelerometer made recording the honeybee vibrations possible. The technique was created by Martin Bencsik from the university of Nottingham Trent.

Orchestral music and 1,000 pulsing LED lights show us these various vibrations. I stayed here under this colossal structure and started feeling like a Queen Bee who many bees want to talk too. What a unique experience this is being so close to nature and listening to it perform. Some of you who are into music would be interested to know that honeybees actually buzz in the key of C, which is the key used for this soundscape.

Thank you ever so much my friend @birjudanak It was a special evening. I was really impressed how this installation can gather so much sunshine. During the day the metal structure is just grey. The path by the installation is called the Broad Walk and it starts from Kew Palace so you can easily feel like royalty 👑

Very good and informative post. Thanks for sharing it!😊

Thank you for your kind words which made me smile @aimarandi It is always nice to hear from such an active member as yourself. I find your feedback really motivating for me to continue contributing to the World Of Xpilar community which I am certain is worth me staying till late and sparing my lunch break on. Yes, guilty as charged 😊 This is exactly what I am doing right now while having a break from work.

It was obviously good to wait till closing time, so you could take those beautiful sunset photos. It was worthwhile.

No doubt about that my friend @zorank Thank you for resteeming my post too, I really appreciate it as this way it will be seen by even more Steemians. It is actually not difficult to end up staying in Kew Gardens till late as they have so much to offer. The staff is really knowledgeable, friendly, always smiling and chatty. There are so many plants and pieces of art both indoors and outdoors. The food and drinks are a bit overpriced but you are also allowed to take your own treats in.
