Macrophotography Contest World Of Xpilar Community ~ Week XVII : "Red Cotton Bug"
Hi Steemian..
Today I'm going to share my findings while taking a walk in the yard. I saw a small animal with a dominant dark orange color. This animal also they have a whitecollar and three black spots. It looks like it is standing on a hibiscus flower that is about to bloom.
This animal is named Red Cotton Bug or scientific language known as "Dysdercus Cingulatus".
The Red Cotton Bug is a pest to the cotton plant. It feeds on emerging bolls and ripe cottonseed. Apart from cotton, these animals also eat several other plants, one of which is the hibiscus flower. So from that, I caught him relaxing on a hibiscus flower.
This animal has a small body, about 12 mm in size. Its small size makes it a little difficult for me to take pictures, plus it moves so fast, I was careful not to let it run away because it felt threatened by my presence.
Well, let's take a look at some of the Red Cotton Bug images that I managed to capture using my smartphone.
