FIRENZE – Canto VII – Lungarno
lungo il cammino, meravigliosa la vista,
il confine non si trova, la libertà pare illusione;
I resume a series of posts focused on Florence, where I wanted to describe the city of Dante, and the Divine Comedy, in my own way. Dante Alighieri in his most famous novel, did nothing but cross Florence, and so, as a tourist, I too did it. This was the only way I could understand how much inspiration a wonderful city like Florence can be.
The streets that flank the Arno river, which crosses and divides the historic center of Florence are called "Lungarni".

The Ponte Vecchio, symbol of Florence, is marvelous with its goldsmith shops. It seems a small suspended ancient village.
The premises overlooking it are beautiful, such as the historic “Harris Bar”. The external Dehors follow one another, and it seems to be on a boat that crosses the river. On the skyline the beauty of Florence.
Many palaces and churches are reflected in the Arno river.

The Arno is partly navigable.
This river has caused bad floods over the centuries, the most recent on November 4, 1966.
