Sunday Musings: Do You Ever Have a Week Where NOTHING Happens?

in WORLD OF XPILAR11 months ago

Another week comes to a close, and as I look back on this past week it feels like I accomplished absolutely nothing!

Most of the time when I feel like "nothing got done," it tends to be because all sorts of things got in the way of being productive, like a constant series of interruptions keeping me from doing my work.

This was definitely a week of interruptions!

Weeks like this tend to serve as a poignant reminder that even the best laid plans can fall apart in a hurry... and sometimes it doesn't take a whole lot for our lives to change direction.

Perhaps it was silly of me to expect to get any work done, this week.

We had the first few sunny days of the year, and suddenly our yard and garden were calling very loudly. Due to cold weather and rain, we were already running considerably behind, and the lawn was just a "hairy mess."

Whereas it wasn't exactly a new lifelesson, I was once again reminded that I simply don't have the energy to do a bunch of computer work after having spent eight hours doing work in the garden.

So I pretty much "crashed" at the end of those days.

This weekend — yesterday — we were also hosting an event here at our place, and that took a bunch of prep work.

On top of that, it turned out that one of our visitors for this event also turned into a houseguest for a few days, and that served to further derail my intentions of getting actual work work done.

Again, not that I had anything against these things happening... but they just made life a little more "dense," and I came to really realize how much my time "was not my own."

I guess that may be something we all feel, from time to time...

Then I finally reached a point where I thought I'd be able to catch up at least a little, and that's when my computer decided to crash.

Well, not crash entirely, but there's something funky going on with my graphics card, because suddenly everything looks like a circa 1998 VGA screen, not my usual picture.

So instead of working, I ended up spending hours troubleshooting, until I eventually determined that the graphics card might have overheated, causing a thermal shutdown to protect itself...

Oh well. Not going to process images using the system graphics! So I'm going to finish off this week with a blog post, which at least I can do!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope your weekend was a good one!

How about you? Ever have a week where you just can't seem to get any work done, no matter HOW much you try? Do leave a comment if you feel so inclined — share your experiences — be part of the conversation!
