How Many Times Must We Fail, Before We Succeed?

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

Somebody once told me that the spray cleaner called ”Formula 459” has that name because the previous 458 formulas did not work.

If that were actually a true story — and I honestly do not know whether it is or is not — whomever was developing this cleaning product must have had an extraordinary amount of determination!

It has been a really bad week.

It has been a really bad week filled with disappointing results from various things I am involved in, and the ongoing collapse of the crypto market feels like just so much bitter icing on the cake.

Sometimes I find it difficult to stay enthusiastic about what I'm doing, when my efforts basically seem to turn to dust, or to nothing, or some external factor renders all the effort I have been putting in all but worthless.

Along the way, I have also been told that there is no such thing as failure, just opportunities to try again and use a different approach.

Whereas that may be so, sometimes I can't help but sit and wonder where the point at which we simply give up comes?

Or is there no such point? Is the whole point here that the people who succeed are simply the ones who don't give up and the people who fail are the ones who decide to throw in the towel when the results are consistently poor, week after week and month after month and year after year?

What I do know about myself is that I find it very difficult to be enthusiastic — or at least to remain enthusiastic — when things consistently aren't going well.

Well, don't pay too much attention to my pity party here!

I find this time of the year always to be difficult emotionally, in large part because here in the United States it is ”tax season.” What that means on a personal level, is that first we have our annual property tax payment due on the last day of March, and then we have to prepare and file our personal income tax statement by April 15th.

Yikes! That's a lot of taxes!

What I struggle with with each of these is perhaps that they serve as reminders that we always seem to be struggling just to get by. Meanwhile, the current poor economy combined with ever increasing interest rates and inflation are not helping matters any.

But hey, at least I'm grateful that we have a roof over our head and generally can afford to buy food.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great Friday!

How about YOU? Do you lose enthusiasm when things are not going well? Or to you just take it in stride? Do leave a comment if you feel so inclined — share your experiences — be part of the conversation!

Lovely photos as usual.
For me, I feel I succeed in many things, yet I fail when looking at the big picture :o)
