Che bello trovare notizie che uniscono tecnologia e salvaguardia della natura!
Si perché le tecnologie più avanzate, di ultimissima generazione, tengono conto dell'importanza di tutelare il nostro ambiente e ci dimostrano che è possibile in tantissimi modi, dall'energia verde ai sistemi di produzione a impatto zero, insomma i mezzi ci sono per rendere migliore questo pianeta, sta a noi utilizzarli.
In questo caso mi ha colpito la notizia che il Brasile vuole monitorare l'attività illegale di deforestazione utilizzando i satelliti di Starlink.
Per chi non lo sapesse, Starlink fa parte di SpaceX di Elon Musk e attualmente ha circa 1.800 satelliti in orbita raggiungendo circa 140.000 utenti in 20 paesi ad oggi.
A cosa serve?
A dare connettività di qualità anche nelle aree più remote del mondo, quelle non raggiungibili dalle tradizionali linee internet ad alta velocità.
Ma che c'entra Starlink con la deforestazione?
Il ministro delle comunicazioni del Brasile, Fábio Faria, e il CEO di SpaceX, Musk, si sono incontrati per accordarsi sull'utilizzo dei satelliti a favore delle comunità indigene, delle scuole e dei centri sanitari remoti, oltre per monitorare la deforestazione illegale che sta distruggendo la foresta amazzonica.
Insomma in un modo o nell'altro, Musk è sempre sotto i riflettori, questa volta però per una buona causa che tutelerà le popolazioni indigene ma anche tutti noi, visto che la Foresta Amazzonica è un patrimonio naturale inestimabile che ha il ruolo fondamentale di regolazione del clima e dei cicli biologici che influenza tutto il nostro Pianeta.Rif.

In this case I was struck by the news that Brazil wants to monitor illegal deforestation activity using Starlink satellites.
For those who don't know, Starlink is part of Elon Musk's SpaceX and currently has about 1,800 satellites in orbit reaching about 140,000 users in 20 countries to date.
What is it for?
To give quality connectivity even in the most remote areas of the world, those not reached by traditional high-speed internet lines.
But what does Starlink have to do with deforestation?
Brazil's communications minister, Fábio Faria, and the CEO of SpaceX, Musk, met to agree on using the satellites to benefit indigenous communities, remote schools and health centers, as well as to monitor the illegal deforestation that is destroying the Amazon rainforest.

Certo quando la tecnologia è usata per aiutare a migliorare il mondo è bellissimo, però come fidarsi del ministro delle comunicazioni brasiliano, visto la politica praticata fino ad oggi dal Presidente Bolsonaro! Confidiamo in Musk !
Si speriamo che non sia soltanto una trovata politica, però diventando un evento mediatico sono costretti a portare avanti il loro progetto. Vedremo.. ;-)
Good topic, yes the environment should be a priority and more in these times when the planet earth is in danger and those satellites that exist as a consequence of technology are commendable that they fulfill their function in the aforementioned aspect for the intervention and detention of damages caused by individuals to obtain "benefits" from illegal agriculture among others. These satellites not only have the ability to visualize illegal camps or illegal crops, they also have the power to hear sounds that are not consistent with the jungle environment such as the engine of a truck or the sound of a chainsaw.
It's true, they're powerful and can even recognize sounds that do not belong to the jungle. :-)
