Buongiorno a tutti, potevo mancare al gioco del diario in questo giorno così importante per noi italiani?
Si perché a prescindere dalle credenze religiose o meno, ormai l'8 Dicembre è la fatidica data che annuncia l'inizio del Natale e proprio in questo giorno le case vengono decorate a festa.

Poi chiaramente ogni regione, ogni città e ogni tradizione familiare personale ha una propria data per fare l'albero e dare inizio al Natale.

Comunque l'8 Dicembre è la festività dell’Immacolata, noi l'abbreviamo così ma in realtà sarebbe l'Immacolata Concezione della Beata Vergine Maria, una festa nei Paesi di tradizione cattolica, quindi anche il nostro e solitamente è il giorno in cui nelle piazze delle città italiane si accendono le luci dell'albero per dare il via ai festeggiamenti per tutto il periodo natalizio fino all'Epifania che cade il 6 Gennaio.

Stamattina ci siamo svegliati un po' più tardi e fatto colazione tutti insieme, le mie figlie hanno preso una tazza di cioccolato caldo e anche se non è una tradizione nostrana, hanno tuffato nella tazza una bella manciata di marshmallow, i famosi cilindretti di puro zucchero usati moltissimo negli USA.

In tutti in telefilm e serie tv americane sul natale c'è sempre qualcuno che nella tazza di cioccolato caldo aggiunge i marshmallow e devo ammettere che la cioccolata diventa più cremosa e più buona.

Quindi avendo molto da fare in questa giornata speciale, ho deciso di scrivere subito il mio post quotidiano raccontandovi intanto del caos che c'è in casa per via dei cartoni e dei contenitori con tutto il materiale di Natale accumulato negli anni.

Vogliamo parlare dei cappelli rossi di Babbo Natale? O delle calze della Befana? Non so più dove metterli, perché ogni anno ne riceviamo di nuovi. Comunque in qualche modo cercherò di usarli come decorazioni.

Ed ecco il mio bellissimo .. mini albero. Dall'inquadratura ho provato a renderlo più voluminoso ma insomma le dimensioni sono quelle che sono.
Mi riprometto sempre di prenderne uno più grande ma poi alla fine rinuncio perché non so dove collocarlo in casa, diventa ingombrante e in 4 più il nostro cane non ci muoviamo più.

Eccolo qui, sembra striminzito e lo è, ma vi assicuro che una volta decorato avrà tutto un altro aspetto!! 😂
Come si dice dalle nostre parti, nella botte piccola c'è il vino buono.

Pur non essendo credenti, non ci dispiace sistemare vicino all'albero, un piccolo presepe. Io e mio marito proveniamo da famiglie cattoliche, quindi ci portiamo dietro le tradizioni religiose connesse al Natale, i ricordi da bambini delle feste con i parenti e il valore anche religioso che in un qualche modo veniva dato a questo evento.
Tutto sommato è bello provare a ricreare quell'atmosfera e per questo in casa non può mancare il presepe e come tradizione vuole, ci appresteremo a coprire il bambinello con un po' di ovatta fino al 24 a mezzanotte.

Ecco, togliere l'ovatta è il ricordo che mi porto dietro da sempre, può sembrare strano o stupido, eppure da piccola appena potevo, perché non sempre riuscivo a rimaner sveglia fino a tardi, la prima cosa che facevo, ancora prima di scartare i regali, era scoprire il bambinello.

Insomma ognuno di noi porta con sé i propri ricordi, le proprie tradizioni, non c'è una regola che vale per tutti, l'importante è voler condividere questo momento speciale con tutte le persone che ci sono care, perché per quanto il Natale sia diventato una festa commerciale, consumistica e sempre meno religiosa, la verità è che si tratta della festa di tutti e per tutti, l'unico momento dell'anno in cui crediamo e forse vorremmo davvero, essere più buoni e più aperti verso gli altri.

Allora diamo inizio alla magia del Natale.. per quanto riguarda i miei addobbi ci vediamo al prossimo diario. 😜

Good morning everyone, could I miss the diary game on this important day for us Italians?
Yes, because regardless of religious beliefs or not, December 8th is now the fateful date that announces the beginning of Christmas and on this day the houses are decorated to celebrate.

Then clearly each region, each city and each personal family tradition has its own date to make the tree and start Christmas.

However, December 8th is the feast of the Immaculate Conception, which we abbreviate but but it would be the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a feast day in traditional Catholic countries, including ours, and is usually the day when the tree lights are turned on in the squares of Italian cities to kick off the festivities throughout the Christmas season until the Epiphany, which falls on January 6.

This morning we woke up a little later and had breakfast all together, my daughters had a cup of hot chocolate and even if it is not a local tradition, they dipped into the cup a handful of marshmallows, the famous cylinders of pure sugar used a lot in the USA.

In all American TV shows and series about Christmas there is always someone who adds marshmallows to the cup of hot chocolate and I must admit that the chocolate becomes creamier and better.

So having a lot to do on this special day, I decided to write my daily post right away telling you about the chaos in the house because of the boxes and containers with all the Christmas stuff accumulated over the years.

Shall we talk about Santa's red hats? Or the stockings of the Epiphany? I don't know where to put them anymore because we get new ones every year. However somehow I will try to use them as decorations.

And here is my beautiful ... mini tree. From the shot I tried to make it more voluminous but in short the size is what it is.
I always promise myself to get a bigger one but in the end I give up because I do not know where to put it in the house, it becomes bulky and in 4 plus our dog we do not move anymore.

Here it is, it looks skimpy and it is, but I assure you that once decorated it will look totally different!!! 😂
As they say in our neck of the woods, Good things come in small packages.

While we are not believers, we don't mind setting up next to the tree, a small nativity scene. My husband and I come from Catholic families, so we carry with us the religious traditions associated with Christmas, the memories of children's parties with relatives and the religious value that was somehow given to this event.
All in all it's nice to try to recreate that atmosphere and for this reason in the house can not miss the crib and as tradition dictates, we will prepare to cover the baby with some some cotton until 24th at midnight.

It may seem strange or stupid, but as a child, as soon as I could, because I couldn't always stay up late, the first thing I did, even before unwrapping presents, was to uncover the baby.

In short, each of us brings with him his own memories, his own traditions, there is no rule that applies to everyone, the important thing to want to share this special moment with all the people who are dear to us, because although Christmas has become a commercial holiday, consumerism and less and less religious, the truth is that it is the party of all and for all, the only time of year when we believe and maybe we would really like to be more good and more open to others.

So let's start the magic of Christmas... as for my decorations see you in the next diary. 😜
