Parliamoci senza peli sulla lingua: il campionato italiano è il più noioso d'Europa! La qualità delle rose, tutt'altro che eccelsa, e la mancata presenza di grandi fuoriclasse tra le fila delle nostre squadre, rende la Serie A un torneo incapace di far emergere persino le espressioni migliori. Detto in due parole, il nostro è un calcio "non allenante".

Ditemi in che modo sia possibile infatti appassionarsi ad una gara in cui la prima della classe corre praticamente da sola, mantenendo per tutto il tempo le avversarie a distanza siderale. Se ci riuscite, poi, provate anche a spiegarmi come alcune squadre, palesemente penalizzate dalle decisioni degli organi sportivi, dovrebbero considerare regolare un simile guazzabuglio, nel quale le decisioni vengono prese e poi stravolte a seconda di come tira il vento.

Beh, direte voi, quando una realtà emerge tra tutte in modo così evidente, e la differenza con le rivali risulta tanto netta, appare difficile non considerare in ogni caso meritata la vittoria finale, ma a questa considerazione se ne può tuttavia opporre un'altra, altrettanto valida e degna di nota: perché la dominatrice della Serie A si è dimostrata tanto forte in Italia, ma molto meno in Europa? Come mai a tale supremazia nostrana non è corrisposta la vittoria della Champions League?

Prima che possiate iniziare a pensare alle dovute risposte, voglio sgombrare il campo da ogni equivoco e scusarmi con voi per eventuali malintesi: non crediate nemmeno per un momento che le considerazioni di cui sopra siano riferite alla meravigliosa versione 2022/23 del campionato italiano, per la terza volta nella storia conquistato dal glorioso Napoli (per l'occasione è stata lucidata una nuova postazione nella mensola dei trofei), né ai precedenti due, finiti nelle bacheche, ben più ricche (anche di materiali da imballaggio) delle squadre milanesi.

Del resto avete sentito mai qualcuno porre queste domande al buon De Laurentiis o alle varie proprietà "creative", magari facendo a gomitate tra creditori e prestanome, di stanza sotto la Madunina? O letto, negli ultimi tre anni, allusioni a questo o quell'episodio, a campionati falsati, a strani errori in sala VAR, dove le immagini appaiono e scompaiono alla bisogna?

No di certo, dato che possiamo affermare senza tema di smentita (al massimo ci proveranno da Lille parlando dell'affare Osimhen, ma voi non dategli retta) che fortunatamente, da tre anni a questa parte, il prodotto del pallone italiano è tornato pulito. Certe cose accadevano solo prima, e più precisamente durante i nove campionati intercorsi tra la stagione 2011/12 e 2019/20.

Ora che finalmente abbiamo ristabilito le verità, compreso il fatto che, se si vince in Italia ma si arriva in finale di Champions League perdendo, vuol dire aver rubato in patria, ma se si esce molto prima è solo colpa della sfortuna, possiamo concentrarci sull'entusiasmante lotta per le posizioni rimaste aperte, quelle per la conquista di uno slot nelle prossime coppe europee.

Al netto delle prossime decisioni della giustizia sportiva o dell'UEFA, sono sei le squadre che in cinque partite si contenderanno le ultime tre posizioni valide per l'accesso alla prossima Coppa dalle grandi orecchie, con due che si dovranno accontentare per forza di cose dell'Europa minore, e una verosimilmente di rimanere con il cerino in mano.

Sulla carta, il percorso più facile sembrerebbe riservato alla Lazio di Maurizio Sarri, tra tutte meglio piazzata in classifica e senza ulteriori distrazioni da impegni extra-campionato, seguita dalla Juventus, tuttavia alle prese con la doppia semifinale europea contro il Siviglia e con le elucubrazioni mentali del peggior allenatore della Serie A, mentre minori chanches di qualificazione tra le prime quattro vengono assegnate a Milan e Roma.

A giocare contro i rossoneri una condizione fisica non apparsa brillantissima (ma forse è una tattica in vista della Champions League), mentre per la formazione giallorossa, continuamente ammorbata dalle castronerie del suo tecnico clown, pronto a sparare a zero contro gli arbitri tutte le volte che non vince, così come per i bianconeri, avrà un ruolo decisivo l'impegno europeo.

L'Inter, tornata in gran forma, dovrà affrontare diversi scontri diretti e sfide impegnative (Roma, Napoli, Atalanta e Torino), ma almeno un paio di esse contro squadre prive di obiettivi e che potrebbero non affondare totalmente il piede sull'acceleratore. Tra queste, non ho citato il Sassuolo, che naturalmente non vedendo le strisce della maglia colorate nella maniera preferita, eviterà di scansarsi, come in tutte le altre occasioni in cui ha affrontato a testa alta e con grande spirito le altre grandi.

Come detto prima, finalmente un campionato avvincente, come testimoniato dai quattro milioni di spettatori che hanno assistito (programmi di approfondimento compresi) su DAZN alle partite dell'ultima giornata. Che fino all'anno scorso erano quasi il doppio, ma questa è un'altra storia.

Well, you might say, when one reality stands out so clearly among them all, and the difference with its rivals is so clear, it is difficult not to consider the final victory as deserved in any case. However, this consideration can be countered by another, equally valid and noteworthy one: why did the dominator of the Serie A prove so strong in Italy, but much less so in Europe? Why was such domestic supremacy not matched by victory in the Champions League?

Before you can start thinking about the due answers, I want to clear the field of any misunderstandings and apologise to you for any possible misunderstandings: do not believe for a moment that the above considerations refer to the marvellous 2022/23 version of the Italian championship, for the third time in history conquered by the glorious Napoli (a new position on the trophy shelf has been polished for the occasion), nor to the previous two, which ended up in the much richer trophy cabinets (even in packaging materials) of the Milanese teams.

After all, have you ever heard anyone ask these questions of the good De Laurentiis or the various 'creative' properties, perhaps rubbing elbows with creditors and lenders, stationed under the Madunina? Regardless of the forthcoming decisions of sporting justice or the UEFA, there are six teams that will be competing in five matches for the last three positions valid for access to the next Big Ears Cup, with two having to settle for minor Europe, and one likely to be left holding the bag.

On paper, the easiest path would seem to be reserved for Maurizio Sarri's Lazio, best placed in the standings and with no further distractions from non-championship commitments, followed by Juventus, who are nonetheless grappling with the double European semi-final against Sevilla and the mental lucubrations of the worst coach in the Serie A, while lesser qualification chanches among the top four are awarded to Milan and Roma.

Against the Rossoneri, a physical condition that did not appear very brilliant (but perhaps it is a tactic in view of the Champions League), while for the Giallorossi, continually soiled by the rubbish of its clown coach, ready to shoot at the referees every time he does not win, as for the Bianconeri, the European commitment will play a decisive role.

The Inter, back in great form, will have to face several direct clashes and tough challenges (Roma, Napoli, Atalanta and Torino), but at least a couple of them against teams with no goals and who might not totally sink their foot on the accelerator. Among these, I have not mentioned the Sassuolo, which, of course, not seeing the stripes of the jersey coloured in the preferred manner, will avoid shying away, as on all the other occasions in which it has faced the other big teams head-on and with great spirit.
