Il solito dilemma 🇮🇹🇬🇧

Come spesso mi e' accaduto in questi anni si ripresenta puntuale la domanda che mi faccio ogni volta che ho in programma un viaggio a Cuba.
Che faccio con lo scooter?
Lo affitto (rentare) come sempre o ne compero uno?

La previsione per quest'anno ed i prossimi e' di passare sull'isola 75/80 giorni, pur avendo il sottoscritto un certo tipo di rapporto con chi affitta i mezzi (ni' pa mi, ni' pa ti...) mi pongo sempre la domanda se non sarebbe piu' saggio acquistarne uno elettrico e girare con quello, lasciandolo poi in famiglia a Tunas per ritrovarlo al prossimo viaggio.

Cominciamo col dire che non mi piacciono le moto elettriche, ora se ne trovano anche a benzina (scooter parlo) ma siamo dai 3000 usd in su.
Diciamo che con poco piu' di 2000 usd si acquista qualcosa di decente, in questi giorni ho guardato Revolico (quello dedicato alle moto) sull'usato si va poco oltre i 1000 usd ma non sai mai veramente la batteria a che livello sia.
Con quelle a benzina non ci sarebbero problemi, meno che meno per l'intestazione del mezzo sempre alla mia famiglia di riferimento.

A volte mi chiedo quanti me ne sarei acquistati di scooter in questi anni se avessi scelto, allora, di acquistare invece di rentare.
Mah...fino a pochi anni fa gli scooter elettrici in vendita erano dei carcassoni che non andavano avanti e con una autonomia limitatissima, avrei dovuto cambiarlo spesso.

Rentare ha i suoi bei vantaggi, lasciamo stare il prezzo a cui IO riesco a rentare non e' il caso di disquisirne pubblicamente, dico solo che una volta rentato i problemi, se ci sono, mi vengono risolti in tempi brevissimi dall'amico che me la renta, renta ufficiale parlo.
Se sono a Calixto e mi si rompe lo chiamo e viene a prendere me e la moto, se ho un guasto qualsiasi mi arriva in casa o dove sono e me lo risolve.

In caso di mezzo mio le cose sono differenti.
Potrei sempre acquistarne uno e rivenderlo ogni anno prima della partenza, in primavera, visto che non ritornero' sull'isola per almeno 7 mesi.
Ho sempre dato molta importanza al fatto di avere uno scooter per spostarmi a Tunas ed in provincia, senza un mezzo la vacanza suona in modo completamente differente, non e' il caso.
Vedremo, intanto do' un occhiata a cosa c'e' poi, una volta sbarcato sull'isola decidero' come muovermi.

THE USUAL DILEMMA

As has often happened to me in recent years, the question I ask myself every time I plan a trip to Cuba comes up again.
What do I do with the scooter?
Should I rent it as usual or should I buy one?

The forecast for this year and the next is to spend 75/80 days on the island, even though I have a certain type of relationship with those who rent the vehicles (ni' pa mi, ni' pa ti...) I always ask myself if it wouldn't be wiser to buy an electric one and travel with that, leaving it with the family in Tunas to find it on the next trip.

Let's start by saying that I don't like electric motorcycles, now you can also find petrol ones (scooters I'm talking about) but we are from 3000 usd and up.
Let's say that with a little more than 2000 USD you can buy something decent, these days I looked at Revolico (the one dedicated to motorcycles) on used you go a little over 1000 USD but you never really know what level the battery is at.
With the petrol ones there would be no problems, even less for the registration of the vehicle always to my reference family.

Sometimes I wonder how many scooters I would have bought in these years if I had chosen, then, to buy instead of renting.
Well... until a few years ago the electric scooters on sale were carcasses that didn't go forward and with a very limited autonomy, I would have had to change it often.

Renting has its good advantages, let's leave aside the price at which I can rent it, it's not the case to discuss it publicly, I'll just say that once I rent the problems, if there are any, are solved in a very short time by the friend who rents it to me, official renting I'm talking about.
If I'm in Calixto and it breaks down I call him and he comes to pick me up and the bike, if I have any kind of breakdown he comes to my house or wherever I am and fixes it for me.

If I have my own vehicle things are different.
I could always buy one and resell it every year before leaving, in spring, since I won't be returning to the island for at least 7 months.
I've always given a lot of importance to having a scooter to get around Tunas and the province, without a vehicle the holiday sounds completely different, it's not the case.
We'll see, in the meantime I'll take a look at what's available, then once I land on the island I'll decide how to move.
