Kailua Beach

This is actually two beaches: Kailua Beach and Lanikai Beach. They both create a 3 mile long white sand beach on the Windward side (east) of Oahu along the south. It is world famous for its beauty of the sand, the water and the view of the gentle curve which stretches across the horizon. It is also famous for the Mokulua Iskands- multiple small islands off its coast, used for impromptu picnics and parties. It’s also blessed with a great breeze which makes it a great place for water activities involving sails like windsurfing and parasailing.

The spectacular white sand beach, emerald green water and free entertainment of windsurfers, parasailed s and other water sports enthusiast is a proper compliment to the peaceful serene surrounding. Eat lunch, take a long walk, enjoy the feel of the ocean on your feet, the warm sand in between your toes and the gentle breeze in your hair. It is truly a fun experience and a short drive from central Oahu via the H3 freeway or the Pali Highway from Honolulu and Waikiki.

There are many rental facilities nearby for boats and watercraft. You can also take surfing lessons, windsurfer lessons or other healthy water sports. Both traditional Sit down Canoe paddling, and stand up paddling a large wide surfboard like paddle board are also popular. Modern canoes and boards are so light that you see 75 pound people carrying 14 feet on canoes and boards made of plastic.
