It's still raining

Some time ago, in my area of Aceh-Indonesia, it rained every day, both during the day and at night. The rain only stopped a few hours the rest of the rain pouring down our area. In fact, according to estimates from BMKG there will still be rain so far, be it light rain, heavy rain with lightning.

From the rain that continued to pour in our area a few weeks ago, about 1 week we experienced a flood disaster which resulted in 52,007 people from 15,342 families being affected by flooding and 41,120 people from 12,598 families having to evacuate. Meanwhile, out of 27 sub-districts, 15 sub-districts were affected by flooding. Due to the continuous rain, the river embankments were unable to accommodate the water discharge, so that several river embankments collapsed, causing 7 houses to be seriously damaged.

This is not the first time that flooding has occurred in our area, but floods occur every year. Every year, of course, people have to evacuate as a result of the floods that occur. The flood water discharge comes from the intensity of the rain that occurs.

Floods commemorate residents settlements

With high water discharge, while the capacity is inadequate, it causes water to penetrate into color settlements. From the picture that I have shown above, it can be seen that the water has hit the residents' settlements. For residents who are unable to stay at home, because it can cause water to continue to enter the house, they prefer to evacuate to a safer place.

Residents chose to evacuate to relatives' houses that were not affected by the flood or to a higher level place. Usually people in our area will choose to flee to the surau. Because the surau here has a high surface and the average surau building is 2 floors.

For residents who do not want to evacuate, they prefer to survive in the flood, even though their houses are flooded. There are various reasons why they choose to stay afloat in the midst of flooding, including they do not have relatives living close to them and they are afraid to leave their homes, possibly more severe flooding will occur. If they still survive in the house, then they can save the price of their belongings.

People try to break through the flood that has been remembering the road

From the flooding that occurred, it was seen that water was flooding the road. People who want to pass can only surrender to wade through the road that has been flooded. It is possible that if they wade through the flood on a motorbike, the water on their motorbike will be submerged in water and their motorbike will suddenly die. Not a few motorcycles that waded through the flood were damaged, only some were not damaged.

Even if they persist and do not wade through the flood, their property, especially motorcycles, will be drowned by the increasing water. Like it or not, they have to choose whether to survive or to save themselves as much as possible.

The average community here will try to save themselves by wading through the flood, even though the road is already flooded. It's not that they didn't save themselves before the water hit the road, but they didn't have time to save themselves because the water flow was too high and quickly covered the surface of the residents and the road.

Until now, heavy rain is still happening in our place, for the flood has receded some time ago. Hopefully with the current flood there will not be another flood. Even though we humans can only plan. Everyone does not want a flood, when the flood has occurred we can only surrender. Because no one can predict when and where the flood will occur.

If someone can predict when and where a flood will occur, then they must first prepare themselves to save themselves and their property before the flood occurs. But the flood occurred no one could guess. Therefore we must always be vigilant.

Nature is unpredictable, God protect us from going through those terrible situations.

In my country Venezuela just a week ago and a few days ago terrible things happened because of the rain.

Success in your participation.

See you soon friend.. Greetings!!

Floods cause devastating damage, lives are more valuable than material.

God protect them so it doesn't affect them..

Cheers..!!
