Verifying a case for recommending it for Goverment grant to make a concrete house. Diary of 23 December

Hello dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your time with your near and dear ones. I wish you all prosperity, good health and better time ahead. Today I am here with yet another diary post to make you know about one more day of my life where I spent whole of my day in public service in the far off areas of our block and i am hopeful that you will get time to read this post and also find it worthwhile to read and upvote.

Today I went on a walk after offering the morning prayers early at around 7 AM.Going on a walk these days is quite dangerous because the cold front that has engulfed the valley has very chilling effect on the body and has become a reason of very frequent strokes and heart attacks among the susceptible people. Every day we come across very unfortunate news of people falling victim to the very severe cold front.
After returning from the walk, I straightaway went to take a hot shower and then had my breakfast in a hurry, so as to reach office on time because today we had to leave for a far off area where we had to verify the eligibility of applicants for the government grant under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(housing scheme) PMAY to construct new house.

PMAY is a centrally sponsored scheme which is a modification of the earlier Indra Awas Yojana IAY scheme in which two crore houses were to be built till 2022. It has been extended to increase it's purview and help more poor people to live in a pucca (concrete)house.This scheme is meant for people who are homeless and also who don’t have any land to construct a house on. Under the scheme the government is providing the landless people land along with the grant to construct houses.

Here in Kashmir, we are in a dire need to help poor people to make houses because the winter here is always harsh and the minimum temperature even touches -10 sometimes which proves fatal for the people who don’t own a house or either live in some kacha(temporary)house.

After having a thorough verification of the possesions and asking the local people about the financial positions of the applicant, our team decided to forward the case of the said applicant to the higher authorities for approval of grant against his name so that he can finish his house and realise his dream of living in a house Till October next year.

Next in the pipeline of today’s task was to inspect the construction of house by a beneficiary who has been already approved the government grant this year and we the employees of Rural development department need to report the progress of these houses after an interval of every 15 days. In pursuance, I today visited the house of one of the beneficiaries and uploaded the details on the portal there only.
It gives me real felicitation when I see the people applauding our efforts and help me to realise that I am in a department where we can help the deserving ones and thus can also play a very crucial part in poverty elevation. Taking care of the poor people of our area, gives me immense pleasure and also a lot of sayisfaction. Seeing happiness on their faces is out of this world feeling for me and I always try to be even more fear in selecting the beneficiaries for such government schemes so that the benefit reaches the most deserving ones.

Later i returned home very exhausted, and after having tea and taking some rest, I went to my room to readIndian polity till my dinner at 9:30 PM. I went to sleep at 11 PM.
