Shadow Hunters: A Happy Cat Marking His Spot.

Both cats, Red and Sunday, like sleeping on the love seat, usually in the afternoons.
Sunday Cat likes comfort and prefers the soft red blanket to the cotton sheet put on the love seat to save it from cat hairs and scratches.
The sun coming through the window makes a shadow of the blinds and Sunday’s head.
Sunday is checking out the red blanket and does some kneading on it before starting to settle down in the first photo.
I’m not sure why cats knead. I think they do it when they are happy and Sunday may be marking the spot with the sweat glands in his paws so Red wouldn’t try to make claim of the red blanket.
When I’m sitting, Sunday will jump up on my lap and start kneading. I think he is staking a claim on me. :)

I have heard the same thing, but, to be honest, nobody is positive, they are just educated guesses.
I agree with Sunday. I would love to snuggle up with the red blankie. Looks soft and cozy.
