because they are earning huge amount of money from users. US govt wants to get a pie of cake from their sales if they agree to pay the price then it will not get ban but if they Don't agree to the deal they will get ban in US so they have been given second chance to sell it in US.
We have also got news that tiktok is going to sell its operations to Microsoft. Lets see what happens in future.

I think the amount of popularity one can gain there is what is making the app more popular and increasing in numbers of users. But I don't see it staying for a long time like thelikes of facebook or Twitter. Far from it

@hassanabid tiktok matter is getting all over the world now , we are hearing many of the different things regarding the same but most importantly it is that it is taking user data without any reason.
Yes there are many policies which can be concerned when related to security of user data
I never really did like tiktok, I mean some of the clips are genuinely funny, but most of them are either cringe or out right stupid.
So it steals your data and doesn't even provide value most of the time. I would ban it for stealing data, but I think the US government is a bit of a hypocrite since it lets Facebook and Twitter get away with the same kind of stuff.

I think one of the vital reasons for it's increasing worth is due to the mass adoption. There are actually lot of people making use of tik tok around the world.
