There's lots of truth to the statement, "Your habits can make you or mar you." There are bad habits that can make you feel very miserable and put you in a messed up state. When you develop the strength to overcome them, you have to make sure you never return to them again.

Most people have bad habits that they just seem not to be able break. And that's very sad, because if you're unable to break a habit that is bringing you pain, then guess what? You'll continuously be in pain. Thus, you have to break it, in order to make progress in life.

Different people have different bad habits holding them down. For some, it may be too much alcohol, for others it may be too much food - hence they feel heavy and lazy. For some, it may be too much smoking. Note, most things aren't that bad when done in moderation.

Whatever the case, as humans; habits are a core part of our beings. Perhaps in the past, you've been able to win the battle against a very bad habit - you should prevent yourself from returning to it by making sure that all the triggers related to that habit are far away from you.

The issue is that, if you carelessly let those triggers to be around you, you may fall back into that problem again. And as you probably know, it's usually a difficult fight to get out of it again. Hence, keep your environment clean, and ensure the things that can trigger those bad habits are distanced from you.
