We have available technological tools that literally put in the palm of our hand access to a lot of information and that also bring us closer to our target audience; and in addition, the ease with which it is possible for a small business to incorporate new technologies is much greater than that of a large corporation. So it is very important for the sustainability of your business to take advantage of these benefits to optimize processes, improve productivity and increase profits.
On the other side, with a market that is in constant change, being able to incorporate new tools and technology applications is an important competitive advantage, which will not only reflect in the benefit of the business but will also be noticed by the customers, since they will find you more easily and receive a better service.
It is true that businesses will always face challenges, especially when the economy is unstable or as at this time due to the pandemic that has imposed reduced schedules and forced to decrease the capacity of customer service within the premises. This is why the use of technology becomes completely indispensable to improve the working conditions of employees, to adapt to the needs of customers, new consumption patterns, or ultimately to remain in an increasingly competitive market.
That's why in this post I wanted to comment on what are some of the technologies that in my opinion are indispensable for a small and medium sized company.

Moving your business to the cloud has many advantages. Since it is not necessary to have your own server, maintenance and updating costs are reduced, and the security of stored data and information is increased. In addition, this system allows us to access all the information from anywhere with internet access, having accounting, payroll or banking data at hand; being able to work efficiently without worrying about being present in the office and depending on a server.

Project managers
A tool for online project management allows us to have control of what is happening, what things we have to do and when we have to deliver it. It is particularly useful when we have more or less large teams with several parties involved. Some examples of these managers are Trello and Basecamp.

Administrative Software
If the business has already taken off and is growing in sales and operations it is becoming essential to automate some functions to keep a more accurate record of the data. And for that we can find business administration platforms that allow us to control different functions, such as purchase and sale cycles, suppliers, accounts payable and receivable, inventories, among others. We can even find some that allow us to connect the inventory module with some online stores, which would avoid problems of delays in the request and delivery of products.
Communication and collaborative work platforms
This pandemic, besides bringing many problems to companies, also allowed us to explore the advantages that can have to incorporate the Home Office in certain areas, for example administration and marketing. That is why, in view of this reality, it is essential to have solid systems to keep teams connected and to be able to work remotely and together. Until recently, the main way of communication both internally and externally of a company was through email, however we have already seen how little operational can be when it comes to maintaining a real-time communication; and we must take into account that to keep an orderly record of projects and facilitate the review of the latest version of a document, a platform that provides more benefits than Whatsapp or Skype is needed. For this we can find alternatives such as Slack, HipChat, Appear.in which are presented as good options for communication between teams.

Logically each company is different; however, we can find among these options some that adapt perfectly well to each type of business, or surely we can find some other that is not in this list and that is suitable for us. The important thing to keep in mind is that in the world we live in, the use of technology is essential for the survival of a business, and every day new applications will appear to improve the working conditions and productivity of the company, so the flexibility to adapt them to the style of the business is fundamental in order not to be surpassed by the competition.

I have hear so much about the cloud but I don't usually believe there is so much benefits or advantages attached to it that will make it to be worth it

Technology is our ally since it allows us to develop other applications within the business world, especially a new knowledge by changing the philosophy of seeing things, as everything changes exponentially that is why you must be prepared for all these kinds of technological changes and software since they live in a very glabalized world.
That's right my friend, technology in many areas changes at great speed, and in business there is a competitive advantage in taking advantage of advances.
Growth is of high relevance in a business world and I agree with you strongly that our generation is privileged to have strong technology we could easily use to make our business better.
