An Attacking Mindset As An Entrepreneur

in Project HOPE3 years ago (edited)

Don't just sit there and let someone or a situation envelop you. You go out and you hit it blow for blow, a punch for a punch. We live in a world where if you give most people your face, they'll punch it real hard. This is a truth, both in personal life and in business. Sometimes, you just have to let the other person know that you've got bones too.

Name anything at all that you think that your best bet is to defend all through? Probably nothing - although, sometimes people get victories out of defending, but if you take a deeper look at it, you'll see that their strongest attack came from their defending. Hence, they were not coming from a mindset of defense, but rather they were coming from a mindset of attack.

If you have an attacking mindset, but you've seen that an outright face to face attack may not work for an opponent; then you consider defending because that's what offers you your best attack, then if we assess that situation very well, we can see that your intention is to attack, and defending is your means of attacking.

In business, sometimes we get into situations of negotiations, and sometimes the other side may want to bully you into making a quick decision. You always have to keep your mind steady, and look for your edge, and make a solid attack based on your advantage. Sometimes an attacker intentionally loses a few battles, so they can have the final laugh and victory. Hence, whatever the case, you must always have attack in mind first. You only defend when you know that it will present you the best opportunity for a powerful counterattack.

But we have to keep this in mind ultimately - you must know who or what you're fighting against. Never start a fight you think that you can't win. There's absolutely no point in that, because in such cases you can't plan a face to face attack, because you'll lose. And if you consider defending, so that you can counterattack, you'll still lose - simply because your opponent is better. Hence pick your battles wisely, with an attacking mindset - you'll tend to find an opportunity to win. Only engage in battles that you think you can succeed or win, otherwise, it's not worth it all.

Greetings friend @devoto, we are in a very changing and competitive world, therefore being passive is not enough, in this sense, I agree when you state that we must face life and problems blow after blow and without fear of being wrong, valuable delivery greetings.

Attack, defend, I think there is time for everyone. The dynamics of business will tell us what is best to do in each case. but I highlight this you write:

"you must know who or what you're fighting against. Never start a fight you think that you can't win. There's absolutely no point in that..."

Very wise.

Hi @devotedman
Thinking about attacking may not be the best philosophy for everyone, but the reality is that we should know how to defend ourselves in everything even if that is not the idea we always have in our mind.
In business, in general, I think the environment is always going to be somewhat competitive, so attacking might be an option.

Sometimes you don't have a choice to make a change where you are going to spend a tremendous amount of energy and time.
