Achievement 3 || by @udyliciouz Task : Content Etiquette: Respecting intellectual properties by avoiding plagiarism.
Intellectual Property
In the past, that should be about three decades ago, only physical, material or tangible items like land, house, cattle and gold could really be classified as property. But as we ventured into the information Age, the concept of what constitutes a property took up added dimensions and included the products of creative thinking like ideas, inventions and concepts, giving birth to what we know today as Intellectual property (IP).
According to science direct "Intellectual property (IP) refers to the claim of “ownership” in creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; symbols, and names and images used in commerce."Source "The Intellectual property system aims to foster an environment in which creativity and innovation can flourish." What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism is a gross disrespect for Intellectual property and a disregard for Content Etiquette. It's a situation where someones intellectual property is use up without permission.
The law in many lands view Plagiarism as the act of robbing an author of his literary work, it is considered as dishonesty and a form of stealing.
If you should take someone else' idea, words, thought, or definition and present it as if it was yours without giving the original owner any recognition through referencing, you will be guilty of plagiarism.
Types of plagiarism
Self-plagiarism
This is when an author republished the same work under different names and gets rewarded for the same information in two or more occations. Steemit will consider it self Plagiarism if I should post this in the newcomer Community and repost it in the skill Share Community.
Paraphrasing Plagiarism
This type of plagiarism involves copy the author's original text, ammending the text using synonyms and restructuring of sentence before posting.
Accidental Plagiarism
In most accidental Plagiarism, quotetion marks are used but the writer omits forgets to include the source. A misquoted source could also be classified among accidental Plagiarism.
Direct Plagiarism
Here the original author's work is copied whole or part word-for-word with out quotation marks or any citation.
Mosaic Plagiarism
Plagiarism is classified as mosaic when it is a collection of ideas from different sources without references. Hand picking ideas and thoughts from different authors to create theirs.
Example of citation
I think the line between "inspiration" and "plagiarism" is often so thin, that you risk falling into the latter one.

CONCLUSION
You can make beautiful posts, enhance it the more with other people's ideas without being guilty of plagiarism if you always properly add references to your Sources.
