What is PLAGIARISM?
In simple words, plagiarism is copying someone's ideas, thinking, thoughts, writing without giving credit to the owner.

Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence.

I copied the above definition from the Oxford University website but I mentioned the source so it will not be considered plagiarism. If I didn't mention the source it will be considered plagiarism.

How To Avoid Plagiarism?

Plagiarism can be avoided by giving credit or sources from where we are getting the information. E.g If you get any information about plagiarism on any website then you copy the same information and post or send it to someone without mentioning the source. If you try to write something in your own words but didn't change it's meaning or idea. As you are using someone else's idea you must mention the source if you don't mention the source it will be considered plagiarized post. If you don't give the source you are violating the copyright laws.

Types Of Plagiarism?

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM : It might occur when you do not really understand how to properly paraphrase, quote and cite your research. Not knowing the proper method of documentation can result in students misattributing someone else's words or ideas as their own. In other words, if you have paraphrased research from a book or an article or a website, but you do not include an in-text citation, the reader will assume that the idea and/or words are yours, not someone else's. Even if you include the name of the source in your reference list at the end of the essay, the missing in-text citation makes it plagiarism.
INTENTIONAL PLAGIARISM : It is the act of deliberately using and presenting someone else's work as your own original work. This would include buying papers online, as well copying & pasting information from sources directly into your essay or assignment without quotation marks, in-text citations and/or references. However, whether a person intentionally or unintentionally plagiarizes, both will have consequences. Not knowing is not an excuse.

Say No To Plagiarism?

Robbing someone's ideas, thoughts, writing that belong to someone else is violation of copyright laws. Receiving credit for someone's hard work and presenting that idea, thought, writing as yours is totally unfair. If you copy anyone's idea, thought or anything else then we should mention the source.
