Good day my fellow steemians. Am am glad to move to my next achievement task after completing my achievement two task and I will be discussing about plagiarism.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM
According to the University of oxford, it is defined as

"Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence." " ^Source

So in other words it means posing someone's one as yours without giving the original owner any credit.
A person who engages in plagiarism is called a Plagiarist

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
1. Direct Plagiarism
In this case, the Plagiarist copies and pasted the work of another writer word for word without citing the source with the intention of taking all the credit to himself.

2. Mosiac Plagiarism
In this case, the Plagiarist may have mentioned the source of the content that he copied but did not acknowledge it properly by putting it under the quotation marks correctly.

3.Self-plagiarism
This occurs when a writer copies and pastes part of thier previous works without giving citation to the original content.

4.Accidental Plagiarism
In this case the Plagiarist misquotes the phrases or parts of the text he has taken from the original source does not cite the source correctly.

Ways to avoid Plagiarism
1 Always giving proper citations of contents from the source.
2Avoid wanting to take credit for what is originally not our work.
3 Make proper research in other to create original content and always make use of Plagiarism checking apps to check for Plagiarism.
