Achievement 3: Content Etiquette by @safemoontech52
Greetings to everyone in this community. I'm so much happy I'm here again to complete my Steemit learning. Achievement 2 enlightened me and made me see the functions of the 5 permission keys in Steemit and how to transfer and power up steem. I learnt all those in achievement 2 and here in achievement 3, I've learnt how to check and avoid plagiarism in steemit when creating contents.
Plagiarism
Definition: Plagiarism can simply be defined as the presentation of another person's thoughts, ideas, or presentation as one's original work.
Direct Plagiarism: This is the transcription of the idea or presentation of another person "word for word"** without giving credit to the original owner or without putting the writings in quote.
Self plagiarism: This form of plagiarism can occur when a student submits one piece of work for two different courses maybe due to difference in years or levels
Mosaic plagiarism: this form of plagiarism, sometimes called patch writing involves using the synonyms of a writers words meanwhile the general structure and meaning remain the same all in an attempt to prevent people from knowing the work is plagiarized.
Accidental plagiarism: This occurs when a person forgets to cite his source of a piece of work be it a quote or things like that.
How to avoid plagiarism
Three ways of avoiding plagiarism are;
Use a plagiarism checker before you submit or post your work
Quoting your sources (and adding your own words, not just copying word for word).
Crediting the original author in your reference list
Citation, Citing a work in your post.
Plagiarism can simply be defined as the presentation of another person's thoughts, ideas, or presentation as one's original work.
