What you need to do is to use those markdown styles to apply to a write up to see the results. For instance, if you want to apply bold to a word and you know that to do that, you have to add ** both at the beginning and at the end of the word without any space, like this

Then the result will be as shown below

So you are to just apply the styles, while we see the results.
