One might wonder what plagiarism had to do with steemit. Oh yes, everything. It has a whole lot to do with steemit platform. Since this is a platform that accommodate millions of users around the world to express their respective ideas there comes a need for each idea to be expressed uniquely.

Now, Plagiarism is a just representation of another users ideas, thought, expression, language as yours without acknowledging the original author. The steemit platform is based on proof of Brain meaning that every user is expected to make entries relying on his intelligence and even if he derives any idea from an author, it is advised he acknowledges the author. Plagiarism is synonymous to academic theft.

Types of Plagiarism

  • Mosaic plagiarism
  • Direct plagiarism
  • self Plagiarism
  • Accidental plagiarism.

I will explain.

Mosaic plagiarism is an indirect type of Plagiarism because the plagiarist I'm question tends to take the original author's work and then acknowledge him in part. Thereby insinuating that the remaining parts are his original idea.

Direct plagiarism is direct and intentional in that the Plagiarist her intentionally deprive the original author of his glory by fixing himself as the main author. This is the height of theft.

Accidental plagiarism is accidental because the author here intends to attribute the work to the original author but he does that erroneously or mistakenly.

Sells plagiarism is mostly rampant in the tertiary institutions as students tends to copy the same work and submit to different lecturers without their consent.

Avoiding plagiarism

Yes, plagiarism can be very much avoided by taking the following precaution:

  • Always citing the original owner of a work.

  • Sourcing every article or images that does not belong to you.

  • Adjusting to the concept of proof of Brain.

Effects of Plagiarism

  1. It adds less or no value to the community at Large.
  2. It destroys ones reputation.
  3. And discourages from carrying it further researches.

"I have read and understood the steemit content etiquette and will surely abide to it"
