Contest-Do you think suicide is the last resort?

Assalamu Alaikum everyone. Today I am going to participate in a competition on a very important topic in the Steem for Bangladesh community. Where it says Do you think suicide is the last resort? I think it's a very hot topic these days. The contest is organized by respected moderator of the community @enamul17 Brother. I will present my opinion on suicide through this competition.

✅Do you think suicide is the last way? Share your own opinion.

Suicide is not a last resort. Yes peoples lives are never happy. No one can claim that there has never been a day of sorrow in his life. Our life is a mix of happiness and sadness. So we have to accept the sadness as we are willing to accept the happiness in life. Then the word suicide will not appear in life.

We all know that suicide is a serious sin from Islamic point of view. We commit heinous sins like suicide even when we know there is some danger or obstacle in our life. But we never have the mindset to deal with that danger. We must learn to live in a new way without ever losing the battle in our lives. Because in our society suicide is considered stigmatized. Their last destination is Hell. So I would like to say that one should face life's obstacles with patience and not suicide.

✅ Are there any incidents that you have seen or heard about?

I was an eye witness to an incident. It was many years ago. The victim used to rent two floors of my building. The boy used to study in a college near my area. Although he has never spoken to me. I only knew the face as a neighbour. I heard that his family used to have a village house and the boy used to rent a house in Dhaka for his studies. However, people's personal or family matters are not known unless there is an incident. One morning suddenly I heard that the boy hanged himself in his own house. I myself saw the boy's hanging body at his house.

What I later came to know from people was that the boy was very good at studies. But parents used to create pressure on him or give extra pressure to study. His parents used to scold him a lot because of his poor marks in one of the subjects in an exam. I heard that he was mentally broken due to poor performance in exams and increased pressure from his parents on his studies. And not being able to bear it, the boy chose to commit suicide.

Such situation in our society we always notice that many parents are behind to improve the results of their children. But those parents must understand that good results never make a child a good person. We have made it a competition without thinking of getting any real learning from education. Therefore, every parent should raise their children with good education, not good results, but overall knowledge is needed.

✅ How do you inspire those broken people to turn from the suicidal path and improve their lives?

To bring back the broken people, first of all, our own people must come forward. Because when a person suffers from depression, he does not know what is good or bad. And in such a situation, gradually his mentality started to deteriorate. And a person may then realize how hard it is for them to live. And from this situation only his parents or his own people can improve life. Here are some things we can do in this matter :

• Suicidal thinkers should be told to look for ways to solve problems instead of ignoring the obstacles that come their way in life.

• They need to understand that in any situation of life they have to come out of depression or sorrow.

• The victim must realize that life is about learning to live. If you are hurt by someone, you have to learn to live with the pain and fight.

• If someone in the family is suffering from depression, he/she must undergo counseling. And for this, his family members should be supported first.

• And such broken people should be inspired to build a new life by friendly behavior.

Finally, when we face any problem, we make life depressing but in this case we need to understand that depression destroys life. So life should be managed by gifting a beautiful time by increasing mental strength without getting discouraged in any difficult time.
