June 23,1943, she was born at 2kg weight. Generally those kind of premature children should be under hospital surveillance. But her parents couldn't effort it. So she was at home after her birth. By birth onwards she suffered many childhood illnesses. At the age of five, one day her mother observed that her leg got bend the her mother took her to hospital. Doctor told mother that she was suffering from polio virus. Her Mother sent her to physiotherapy class to treat polio. When she got nine she recovered from polio but lost her left leg strength. She and her mother travelled about 50miles to get treatment in the hospital. When she attained twelve, Because of the treatment and her family member's daily massage she abled to walk properly without orthopedic shoe.
She used participate in all games in the school. She showed interest in basketball and track. She asked her high school basketball coach to step into the team. But she was extra player in that team for three years. At last in state level basketball championship she played as main player and took part an important role to win that game. The basketball coach nicknamed her as "Skeeter". After that game, media asked her journey. By seeing her interview another coach offered training in track to achieve her goal. Owning to coach's training and her determination ,she selected for national level Olympics. In 1956 Olympics, she was sixteen at that time, she was defeated very badly. After that, she practiced for 4years and gain track experience. In 1960 Olympics, she won three gold medals. she was known as "fastest women in history". Her name is Wilma Rudolph.
