Good morning

Good morning and i trust you are doing just great.

I woke up this morning quite early with this thoughts in my heart.......

Few days from today will be Easter, a period we remember the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. God's business is always about giving, He gave us His Son, Jesus to save us.

Jesus said greater love has no man than to lay down his life for his friend....... (John 15vs13). The act of laying down is an act of giving. Once and for all, He paid the Ultimate price.

Many people do not believe in giving, but I can assure you that it is in giving, you receive......

Jesus predicted his death no less than three times in the gospels. No doubt, he knew what lie ahead for him that fateful Passover in Jerusalem. Before the excitement and danger of the Holy Week unfolded, Jesus prepared to give everything for our sake, and the followers who were paying attention to his predictions helped him.

John 12:1-11 records one of Jesus’ final days before what we call Palm Sunday. We know from the rest of scripture that once Jesus enters into Jerusalem on Sunday; he spends his final days in prayer and teaching. But what did he do before that? John tells us that he rested in the home of his friends. Verse 1 says: “Six days before the Passover, Jesus arrived at Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.” Knowing what he was about to face, Jesus chose to prepare by surrounding himself with peaceful friendships and comforting support. Verses 2-3 explain what the evening was like. “Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.”

Often, when we prepare for a major event in our lives, we spend that time rushing around and stressing over small details. Jesus could have used that time to lay out the timeline and responsibilities of his disciples. He could have done any number of things in preparation for what lie ahead. Instead, he rested, he ate, and he allowed himself to be anointed, as he said, “for the day of my burial”. It is easy to forget that God ordained for us a time for rest. Jesus demonstrated this by accepting the calm before the storm as a time to recharge and recenter. Let us follow his example always. Let us remember that the tasks of tomorrow will still be there in the morning, but whether or not we are prepared depends on our ability to accept rest when God sends it.

Every life is filled with seasons. Some seasons are busy, some chaotic, and some restful. Don’t fill up the restful moments with busywork that can wait. The success of tomorrow is rooted in the rest of today. Spend time with God. Spend time being encouraged by our brothers and sisters. Rest so that you have the strength tomorrow will require.
