Let's set up a buyback wall on the SE exchange - We have 3 options to look at

in SteemLeo5 years ago

Hello everyone, normally on a Sunday we release the SPinvest confirmed membership list but this week but we have no new members and i would like to talk about something else today. Today, i would like to talk about setting up a buy-back wall on the steem-engine exchange for the SPI token. As most SPI token holders are aware, SPinvest performed a token split yesterday and as a result, the SPI token price has been revalued and reset back to 1 STEEM per token. If you are unaware, please check yesterday's post for more details. There are 2 main ways we can set up a buyback wall so that gets right into it.

Why have a buy-back wall?

SPinvest has always offered a straight-up 95% buyback based on the current sale price for any amount of tokens. Offering a buyback takes away 95% of the risk of the investment to investors, it offers liquidy for anyone looking to cash out for whatever reason and it offering a buyback is a great marketing tool. With the SPI token being revalued to 1 STEEM yesterday, it's could be a great time to set this up for the club. Let's have a look at the 3 best ways for us to do this.

1 - SPinvest provides the buyback wall

This way, @spinvest uses STEEMP it has on the SE exchange from SPI tokens sales to set a buyback wall of 0.95 STEEM. This would mean spinvest buying back tokens at 95% of the sale price with these tokens going bACK into the spinvest wallet and needing to be reissued to a new investor at 1 STEEM. Traditionally this is the way a buyback would work but with the main focus of SPinvest being to issue more tokens, we might need to break tradition and look into other options. I would not like to see a noticeable decline in issued tokens if a big investor are lots of smaller investors decide to cash out at the same time so this might not be the best way for us going forward. It is, however, the easiest of the 3 options.

2 - Club members provide the buyback wall

This way, confirmed club members would be given the chance to join a buyback group that provides the STEEM for the buyback wall. The incentive would be a 5% discount they would get on each token sold back to spinvest while ensuring that SPinvest circulating supply continues to only increase in number.

In an easy example, 10 confirmed members each put in 95 STEEM to provide a buyback wall of 950 STEEM. Each buyback member owns 10% of the buyback wall. When 950 STEEM's worth of SPI tokens are bought back through the SE exchange, the total SPI tokens would be 1000 tokens. Each buyback member owning 10% would receive 100 SPI tokens.

This would be the hardest of the 3 options to set up but still very easy and offers a great 5% discount incentive to confirmed members.

3 - Use beneficiary payments to provide the buyback wall

This way, all earnings bought in from our coming soon beneficiary service can be transferred to the SE exchange to provide the buyback wall. The buyback would be done through the spi-payments account ensuring issued token numbers don't decline. In this scenario, spi-payments would own the SPItokens but SPinvest owns spi-payments so SPinvest would be basically investing in itself which is interesting because SPinvest currently has an ROI of 20%+.

This would be the second easiest way to set this up and would require power-downs from the spi-payments account.

My thoughts

I personally like them in order of 2, 3 and 1. To be honest 2 and 3 are really close.

Setting up a buyback group would be a great way to create some buzz and interaction between club members while offering a 5% discount. I would be thinking minimum of 100 STEEM to get involved with monthly fundraising posts being required for topping up STEEM and letting new club members get involved.

Using beneficiary payments is a smart idea i think, SPinvest is still buying back SPI tokens at a 5% discount while owning a token that earns 20%+ per year. This add's value to the true token price overall. In the future, these SPI tokens held by spi-payments that are already in circulation could be used for dividends, giveaways are even token splits with no effect on the true SPI token value. They could be burnt to increase token value are we can just HODL and earn 20%+ per year.

SPinvest providing the buyback is easiest but it does require more token sales than buybacks. As the buyback is 95%, for each SPI token bought back, the true value of each token increases slightly and when that same token is reissued the true value increases again. These are factions of a per cent numbers but they can add up. The only disadvantage is buying back tokens decrease's circulating supply.

Share thoughts and let me know what you think. Would be interested in being part of a buyback group to et your SPI tokens at a 5% discount? Should we use are beneficiary payments to build a wall are should we keep it simple and let spinvest sort it out directly. We could also combine options together. Anyways, share your thought please

Below are steemconnect hotlinks that allow investor's to buy SPI tokens directly from @spinvest. Each token is currently priced at 1.00 STEEM and beside each link is the true STEEM cost to reduce confusion. You can also send any amount directly to @spinvest and i will issue you SPI tokens to 2 decimal places for the value of STEEM to send. All tokens bought directly will be sent to investors SE wallets within 24 hours but most likely much sooner.

This is a club initiative hence the members of the club should step up. The beneficiary will have other uses so we should not use the STEEM from that for a buy wall.

I will start the process by offering 190 STEEM to the project, 20%. I will add another batch if it is needed.

Getting 950 STEEM allocated to this end should not be difficult for such a diverse group.

Thank you for the feedback man, i agree and think we have enough support from club members to do this. I would be hoping for more than 950 STEEM, that was just an example but good to know your down for 190 STEEM :)

I'll make Friday's post about this as I'm booked up the rest of the week already. Friday's are good days to post and we can start to collect payments for this next weekend. We got alot going on at the minute, pretty cool.

I agree @spinvest.
I feel much more comfortable with a buyback wall, rather than a leave it to chance-maybe-there'll-be-enough buyers if some investors want to sell their SPI approach. This is a bit like having a reserve, which seems like a good idea. I think it's also reassuring and motivating for potential investors to know that there are a diverse range of buyers for their tokens, who are committed to that, rather than simply spinvest, and committed to working together to protect SPI, it demonstrates confidence in the token.
I'd be interested in what would seem like a good buy-back wall - 5% of purchased tokens?

Having been on vacation I'm a little late in responding; nevertheless I like option 2 and am willing to put in 10%, 95 Steem

In addition, we could also work together by placing buy orders at 0.95 for some amount.
