SteemAlive Owerri First Zoom Meeting|| Turnout
Introduction
Warm greetings to everyone in the @steemalive community. I've had an amazing time engaging with everyone here.
Yesterday being 31st of August was the steemalive Owerri First Ever Zoom Meeting. One of many to come. Here's how it went.
Meeting Pre- Announcement
As usual my coordinator @ceendy20 had kept emphasizing about the meeting a week or more before, but still I was in for a surprise.
By 8:05pm we were only 3 people in the meeting room,so I chatted people up to find out why they weren't there, and some replies were so funny I couldn't help but shake my head.
Meeting Proper
The meeting finally started by 8:12pm because some people were late.
In attendance at the start of the meeting were 5 persons @ceendy20 @justice2550 @cinnymartins @jovita30 and myself, familiarizing with each other. @jovita30 suggested we use our steemit usernames so the meeting will be more professional and we'll know who came for the meeting.
Things Discussed
Buying of our Steemalive Polo
The first thing @ceendy20 spoke about was the printing of our steemalive t-shirts.
She stressed the need to get it In bulk,as the prices of things are increasing.
She said the polo designs are ready, but what is holding us is the money to print it.
SIM Project
The next thing she spoke about was the SteemAlive Community Impact Network Project (SIM) recently launched on steemalive.
You can read about the project here
She made us understand that there's a lot of benefits to be gained when we get involved in the SIM project.
She said nobody who gets involved in this project will regret it,stressing that steemit has been good to us and we need to go out and show others how good steemit is and how they can benefit from joining steemit.
She then asked if we've all been verified, and those who weren't spoke up.
She said the reason for verification is to know active members in SteemAlive and focus on them. Click Here to learn how you can get verified
Need to Attend Classroom Trainings which Hold on Steemalive Telegram Page
Next she spoke about the Steemalive classroom training which held two days ago on telegram
she emphasized on the importance of attending these classroom sessions and learning as much as one can about steemit.
She said that for one to succeed in steemit, apart from being consistent, they must have knowledge of how the platform operates and what they're expected to do there.
Some of the topics taught in the classroom Yesterday include;
- Power2Soar - why powering up some of our posts 100% is important
- Mastering the art of commenting.
She said that Steemit is a business of Steem Power. A lot of us,both old and new members don't know the importance of these 2 topics, therefore we should avail ourselves to be taught when the opportunity presents itself.
Plans For September
@ceendy20 intimated us that this month we'll be stepping out to do mass awareness and publicity for both steemit and steemalive.
One of the places we would start with are schools,(both secondary and tertiary) create awareness for steemit and also register people to the platform.
She said we can't just come out with our casual clothes, that we need to come out organized in our steemalive polo for the awareness so people will know we're serious, take us serious ad also their curiosity will be piqued about steemit.
Questions and Contributions
@alexanderpeace asked if we were to sponsor the provision of the banner by ourselves or if steemalive were to support us in it and what date we were looking at.
@ceendy20 answered that steemalive community will support us by giving us some money to print the standing banner after they've sent the e-copy.
She also said we're looking at 2nd week of this month to go for the awareness outreach.
@ngozi996 chipped in that it was important we learn the proper way to comment on people's posts. Short comments like wow, amazing, awesome etc showed that the commenter either didn't read the post or is just interested in dropping any comment so they can drop their post links in our whatsapp link groups. She also said that quality comments on someone's post is a way to create engagements between people.
The End
@ceendy20 ended the meeting by 9:10pm and we all said pleasantries to each other and left.
By the time the meeting ended we were 8 person's in attendance. Myself @ceendy20 @justice2550 @mondarl @deklazz @jovita30 @alexanderpeace and @cinnymartins
