The Diary Game Season 3 //7/04/2021//Impatience - A Dangerous Attitude//as Submitted by @meymeyshops

Attitude, they say, makes the difference. Among the many attractive and godly attributes desirable for one to cultivate is PATIENCE. This quality begat many positive benefits that can reverse circumstances of oneself and the ones around us for the better. Patience comes with humility, soundness of mind and peace to mention a few. It protects people from rashly making decisions that might cause lose of money, reputation and in the long run can take away one's life.

But the opposite of Patience is IMPATIENCE - A very disgusting attitude that all of us here must work hard to avoid or uproot if we examine ourselves and notice any trace of impatience. An impatient person have the attitude of "I wants
it now" even at the detriment of others, he or she doesn't care.

Have you been in a long cue, say at the bank ATM or even inside the banking hall? How do you usually react at the sight of a long cue? Are you in the habit of finding an 'Apia way'; a short cut to outsmart others already in the cue? That's bad! But it's wrong and costly.

Today at Access Bank ATM in my area Aba, there was a seemingly long cue, just about 10 or 15 persons at most. The sun was very scotching and the bank's internet service was very slow. One young girl took over 20 minutes to withdraw whatever amount she did withdrew to the point that all of us started murmuring, asking her to come out for others to try theirs.

One middle aged man packed his car, was looking out from inside his car, maybe wondering how he would come out, mesmerize and outsmart us and then withdraw his money. Maybe to his mind, we are all fools.

There was two ATM machines but one was malfunctioned and so wasn't dispensing cash, so only one ATM machine was functioning. Meanwhile, I notice that some repairs was ongoing from within the bank, for at intervals, new messages will show, telling us to WAIT and then disappear.

After a while the man came out of his car, meander his way through the cue and made his way straight to the malfunctioned ATM and slot his debit card. Immediately the machine swallowed his debit card.

He turned around and look at the whole people standing in the cue. Only then did it dawn on him that he should have asked questions initially. Well I helped him ask his question with a resounding voice: Why can't you read those messages on the screen? He exclaimed, oh I didn't even look at it, I just saw the light blinking.

How on earth would the ATM machine be working fine and nobody wants to use it? People began talking. One man behind me said, he lacked common sense. I supported him. Yes most people no longer ask questions. Whether they fear being embarrassed or not, you will just see impatience and arrogance in them.

The man later said, 'let me go inside and tell them to return my card'. Ok! But before he will be allowed to enter, he must collect tally number and then wait till they call him. After all, they were more than fifty people waiting at the entrance with their tally numbers. Social distancing thing you know.

If waiting could have taken him 30 or 40 minutes, who knows how many hours it will take him before entering and lodging his complaint of an 'ATM MACHINE SWALLOW MY CARD'.

What do you think? Is it good to be patient and wait? Explain with example, please.
