Hello everyone, these are the top 5 inventions in my collection.

The Telephone

The Telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in the year 1876. Prior to his invention, communication was mostly done by postal mail and it took long for mails to get delivered. Life's pace was very slow. It was a common situation for a person to travel all the way from the village to visit his uncle, just for the neighbour to inform him that the uncle left for the village about 2 hours ago.
Today we can call and confirm appointments before making a move. The tempo of life is faster and and in the event of an emergencies, calling for help is a lot easier. With the telephone which has evolved into cell phones, it's easy to communicate with relatives who live far aways.

The world wide web

The WWW makes the internet Fun. Tonocon Cyber Cafe, Ikpa Road, Uyo

In the year 1989 Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web. With the telephone and fax available, information was not easily obtainable. And that which was available was not appealingly. The internet would allow the transfer of files but the file did not have the visually inviting looks with audio and pictures. The internet today with the help of the www and HTML, it's now easy, appealing and possible chat through social media. I can listen to music or ask YouTube for vertically anything and get a do it yourself video to guide me through a lot of topics, it has practically become an extensiont of4 my brain.

Napier bones.

John Napier invented the Napier bones in 1617. This device was primarily used for multiplication of large numbers, before his invention, tally sticks were used. His invention made it easy to solve difficult problems of its time. Though this was replaced by calculators, I use both the Abacus and Napier bones to explain the evolution of computer. And

Electric Bulb

The bulb lights up our homes, captured at my office

Thomas Edison invented the light bulb in 1879, prior to his invention, homes were lit up with candles and oil lamps. Which poorly illuminated the space and also polluted the environment with soot.
Today we have bulbs that light up our homes, making it possible to up long into the night. Some area are so lit up that they are said to have light pollution.
I can read, work and stay late into the night when the place is well illustrated.

ballpoint pen

June 15th, 1938. László Bíró invented the ballpoint pen. The ballpoint pen replaces the fountain pen which were less reliable, they flooded and leaked and were unstable at high altitude. The ballpoint pen as we see today is more stable and really leaked. I can comfortably say that writing is more fun with a ballpoint pen..
