To make room for wind turbines and solar panels trees are cut down, farmers have to stop. There are more and more fields with panels and turbines...kilometres of them. All togeher they are good for 5% max of the energy needed. If there's no electricity (petroleum, gas) available at all this means everything will be shut down. At the moment more and more factories close down because everything we do needs petroleum. The entire economy, society is build on it.
Btw without petroleum those windturbines and solar panels cannot be made, transported or run at all. It's not like the original windmill that truly runs if the wind blows.
