Hello friends of this community where if we can't travel in a real way we do it in a virtual way, the difference is minimal.

This contest caught my attention when I saw the word Tour but as it was in English I used the translator Deeepl, to understand it well and I liked it even more, since it is about taking a walk in our hometown or city of origin to show those historical and cultural places that exist.

I am from Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela, where it is said that much of the history of the country was born or forged, in fact there is a sector called Casco Historico, that walking through its streets is to be filled with history, which I will show you.

The Metropolitan Cathedral.

Located in the heart of Casco Historico, it is located in the Paseo Orinoco, is at the top, which can be seen from some places, the towers where the bell and the clock, which does not work as if it had stopped with time. It is said that underneath it, there are catatombs, like secret tunnels, which would be very exciting to discover if it is true. And also that there is one of the 7 heads of a famous snake, legend and culture of the city, whose snake rests or sleeps under the great Middle Stone of the Orinoco River.

As I said the clock does not work, but it is a beautiful old style with its Roman numerals and the bells do work, when they announce the mass, once I was in the Plaza Bolivar very early, I heard the bells and it is a beautiful thing to hear them.

Congress House of Angostura.

It is also in the heart of the Historic Center, very close to the Cathedral and Plaza Bolivar, a house that has been maintained in its original facade, with large windows with balconies, overlooking the Plaza and the Cathedral, with internal gardens, is a colonial type house, of the time, here was read the famous act that wrote the Liberator Simon Bolivar. It is a house museum, you can see works of art: paintings, furniture, books, dating back many years.

Every February 15 an anniversary of the Congress of Angostura is commemorated with civic-military and cultural events in the Plaza Bolivar, by the Parapara Cultural Foundation.

Old Jail of Ciudad Bolivar, or Old Jail of the Orinoco.

Located in the heart of the Orinoco Promenade, in front of the Orinoco River, also in the Historic Center. It is said that it was built during the Republican era, mostly because of the need to lock up those who committed civil, political and other crimes, but many years ago it ceased to be a prison, since the prison population increased and it was very small. Another jail was built.

After that it served as official residence of some governors, headquarters of other public institutions of the city such as: Ethnographic Museum of Guayana, General Archive of Guayana, Institute of History of the State of Bolivar, Cultural Institute of Orinoco.

Its last remodeling was in 1988, always respecting its colonial style construction.

This translator is pretty good as I'm seeing all the text in a comprehensive way. You might being short for the whole context of CBO... It's a magic city with a lot of history, local tales like that creature of seven heads, tasty food due to the famous sapoara and our own traditions. Bolívar City offers a great heritage to proud venezuelans. Thank you for sharing. I invite you to get verified in our community according to one of the pinned posts. Regards 👍🏼✨
