Last year we had to limit our travels and excursions to our own prefecture, but we were really lucky to discover many wonderful places that showed us over and over again how wonderful it is in our own region as well. Many times we were drawn out of the city, to the sea or even towards the mountains, but also in the countryside it was truly beautiful and we never wanted to go home again.

I have already written about some of the places we discovered and presented them to you, because that way the impressions I have gathered remain fresh and in my memory. And I immediately start to plan again, where we want to go next time.

During our excursions, we have of course also found places to which we are drawn to again. Simply because it is so beautiful and we have so much fun there. And one of them, I want to introduce to you today.

In the hills outside our city you can find this small plateau, where a settlement from the Yayoi period was excavated a few years ago. This important historical and cultural period of Japan extended roughly from the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD, and was characterized in particular by the production of certain ceramic products. In the Yayoi period, there were also some settlements in our corner of the country, here in the hills a number of reconstructed residential buildings bear witness to one of them.

In total, there are seven wooden houses from this period on this small plateau and also a cone-shaped elevation that ends in a small plateau. By itself, it might not be so exciting, but nevertheless, this place exudes an almost magical aura. The whole area is surrounded by forest and trees, but looks very well-kept. The grass is always cut short, and you almost feel like you're walking on some lawn in a park.

I can't say exactly why we are always drawn here, it's probably mainly the green nature around us and this sublime silence. And here, the little ones can run around almost undisturbed and let themselves go. During our visits here I noticed that it is not only us, at least some others seem to like it here as well and enjoy the place.

And for that reason, here are some photos today of one of my new favorite places here in Japan. What do I say - in the whole world!

Im letzten Jahr mussten wir leider beim Thema Reisen und Ausflüge auf unsere eigene Präfektur beschränken, aber dabei hatten wir dann das große Glück viele herrliche Orte und Plätze zu entdecken, die uns immer wieder gezeigt haben, wie wundervoll es doch auch bei uns in der Umgebung ist. Viele Male hat es uns aus der Stadt heraus gezogen, hin zum Meer oder auch Richtung Berge, aber auch auf dem Land war es wunderschön und wir wollten immer gar nicht wieder nach Hause gehen.

Über einige Orte habe ich bereits geschrieben und sie euch vorgestellt, denn so bleiben auch bei mir die Eindrücke, die ich gesammelt habe, frisch und in Erinnerung. Und ich fange dann gleich wieder an zu planen, wo wir denn das nächste Mal hin wollen.

Bei unseren Ausflügen haben wir natürlich auch Orte gefunden, an die es uns immer wieder hinzieht. Einfach weil es dort so schön ist, und wir dort so viel Spaß haben. Und einen davon, will ich euch heute vorstellen.

In den Hügeln vor der Stadt findet man diese kleine Hochebene, auf der vor einigen Jahren eine Siedlung aus der Yayoi-Zeit ausgegraben wurde. Diese wichtige geschichtliche und kulturelle Epoche Japans erstreckte sich etwa vom 3. Jahrhundert v. Chr. bis zum 3. Jahrhundert n. Chr., und war insbesondere durch die Produktion bestimmte Keramikprodukte gekennzeichnet. Auch in unserer Ecke des Landes gab es während der Yayoi-Zeit einige Siedlungen, und von einer davon zeugen einige wiedererrichtete Wohngebäude.

Insgesamt gibt es auf dieser kleinen Hochebene sieben Holzhäuser aus dieser Zeit und eine kegelförmige Erhebung, die in einen kleinen Plateau mündet. An für sich ist es nicht wirklich aufregend, aber trotzdem versprüht dieser Ort eine fast schon magische Austrahlung. Das ganze Areal ist umgeben von Wald und Bäumen, aber wirkt sehr gepflegt. Das Gras ist immer kurz geschnitten, und man fühlt sich fast wie auf einer Wiese im Park.

Ich kann nicht genau sagen, warum es uns immer wieder hierher zieht, es ist wohl vor allem die grüne Natur um uns herum und diese erhabene Stille. Und hier können insbesondere die Kleinen fast ungestört herumrennen und sich fallen lassen. Bei unseren Besuchen hier habe ich festgestellt, dass es nicht nur uns so geht, zumindest einigen anderen scheint es hier wohl ähnlich gut zu gefallen.

Und aus diesem Grund gibt es heute einige Fotos von einem meiner neuen Lieblingsplätze hier in Japan. Ach was, auf der ganzen Welt!

The whole area is quite hilly and also slightly undulated, and you could easily get the impression that this is the setting from a motion picture. Of course, it will have looked a little different here in the past, but you still get a little idea of what might have been here back then.

Das ganze Areal ist ziemlich hügelig und auch leicht wellig, und man könnte leicht den Eindruck bekommen, es handelt es um die Kulisse aus einem Kinofilm. Natürlich wird es hier früher etwas anderes ausgesehen haben, aber ein wenig bekommt man trotzdem eine Vorstellung von dem, was damals hier gewesen sein könnte.

I don't know who mows the lawn here, but I'd love to express my gratitude to them. I am impressed every time anew how this area is in good shape. Although unfortunately last winter some of the cabins didn't quite hold up to the huge amounts of snow and were damaged, in days gone by life here was probably anything but a breeze.

Ich weiß nicht, wer hier den Rasen mäht, aber ich würde ihm zu gerne einmal meinen Dank ausdrücken. Ich bin jedes Mal von Neuem beeindruckt, wie gut die Anlage doch in Schuss ist. Obwohl leider im letzten Winter einige der Hütten den großen Schneemassen nicht ganz Stand gehalten haben und beschädigt wurden, in früheren Zeiten war das Leben hier wahrscheinlich alles andere als ein Kinderspiel.

Since we had noticed last year that some of the trees up here were cherry trees, I really wanted to stop by this April and see what the cherry blossom was like up here. The nature around was not quite as green and fresh as it is at this time of year, but the sakura spectacle made surely up for it. This particular time of year just has its so unique charm and appeal that always captivates me.

Da wir im letzten Jahr festgestellt hatten, das einige der Bäume hier oben Kirschbäume waren, wollte ich unbedingt dieses Jahr im April hier vorbeikommen und ansehen, was die Kirschblüte hier zu bieten hat. Die Natur ringsherum ist noch nicht ganz so grün und frisch wie zu dieser Jahreszeit, aber das Sakura-Schauspiel macht das dann auch wieder wett. Diese besondere Jahreszeit hat einfach ihren so einzigartigen Reiz und Charme, der mich immer wieder gefangen nimmt.

Einfach herrlich anzuschauen sind diese pink-weißen Blüten, und dazu noch dieser Blick in die Ferne, wo hinter den Häusern am Ende des Horizontes das Meer wartet. Und die untergehende Sonne taucht alles in ein warmes Licht, das die Sehnsucht so sehr zu stimulieren vermag.

But the cherry blossom is still half a year away, at the moment a completely different season is just around the corner. The leaves of some trees have started to change color, but today it had been really warm and sunny again. And since the end of the year is still some time away, I really hope that we will come here at least once more this year. Sitting down here and enjoying the beautiful scenery around us is one of the little highlights that is so important in our lives. Up here I just feel comfortable and can start dreaming without any difficulty and in my mind I start to go on a very big journey.

I am very grateful for the fact that we had the great luck to discover this place and I am happy every time we can come here again. After every visit I feel full of energy again and motivated to tackle and master the next challenges.

Aber die Kirschblüte ist noch ein halbes Jahr hin, im Augenblick steht eine ganz andere Jahrezeit vor der Tür. Die Blätter einiger Bäume haben angefangen, sich zu färben, aber heute war es noch einmal richtig warm und sonnig gewesen. Und da das Ende des Jahres noch etwas hin ist, hoffe ich doch sehr, dass wir in diesem Jahr hier noch einmal vorbeikommen werden. Hier sich hinzusetzten und die herrliche Kulisse um uns herum zu genießen ist einer der kleinen Höhepunkte, der so wichtig ist in unserem Leben. Hier oben fühle ich mich einfach wohl und kann ohne Problem anfangen zu träumen und in meinem Gedanken auf ganz große Reise zu gehen.

Und dafür, dass wir das große Glück hatten, diesen Ort zu entdecken, bin ich sehr dankbar und ich freue mich über jedes Fall, wenn wir hier wieder vorbeikommen können. Danach fühle ich mich wieder voller Energie und motiviert, die nächsten Herausforderungen anzugehen und zu meistern.

Die neue Woche hat angefangen und ich wünsche euch allen viel Erfolg bei allem, was ihr vorhabt und was auf euch zukommt. Ich bin bald wieder zurück mit weiteren Eindrücken und Bildern aus dem Land der aufgehenden Sonne.
