What's Interesting From Reading Iftitah

Continuing the previous article, for me what is interesting from the editorial reading of iftitah in prayer is not whether "inni wajjahtu wajhiya" or "wajjahtu wajhiya" without this. What is interesting is its relation to the science of kalam.

When praying, we are exemplified by saying the sentence which means "I turn my face to the One who created the heavens and the earth". It's clear that when we pray, we don't face the sky or the Throne, but look forward slightly downwards? Those who insist on saying that there are thousands of proofs that Allah above (physically) are compact pretend to forget about this so it is almost never discussed.

Of course, this does not mean that the Essence of Allah is in front of or below the person praying, just as raising one's hands up does not mean that the Essence of Allah is above.

But it must be understood that all worship movements of a servant are symbols of a godly position. When asking Allah, then the position of holding his hands up is like a begging position as a symbol that he needs Allah who is higher in rank than himself. When praying, his position is facing the Qiblah while bowing his face as a symbol that he is coming to his Lord by doing the prayer command. Everything is symbolic.

Likewise, all the verses and hadiths which at first glance mean to talk about the position of God, all of them are also symbolic.

• When the emphasis is on the high position of Allah above all creatures, then it is expressed by the editorial "Allah is above all."

• When the emphasis is on Allah's control over all his subordinates and that Allah governs all aspects of life, then it is expressed by the editorial "Allah is above the Throne.

• When the emphasis is on Allah's supervision, protection and care for creatures, it is revealed that Allah is close to all and with them wherever they are.

• When the emphasis is on the solemnity of worship, it is expressed by the editor that "God is in front of their faces."

They are merely symbolic expressions, not as a discussion of God's physical location. Whoever understands this faith then he is lucky.

Anyone who only focuses on one type of expression, for example, the expressions that Allah is above, collects all those expressions from the Qur'an, hadith and ulema quotes while forgetting the expressions in other contexts so that it seems that what is being discussed is a matter of physical location. Allah is in a certain place or direction, so he is far from guidance and is at odds with the uslub of the Qur'an and hadith.

For those who stubbornly insist on asking where is Allah's location, then based on this hadith reading iftitah it can be answered that Allah is in front of people praying. Moreover, in another hadith narrated by Imam Muslim, the Prophet Muhammad firmly stated "God in front of people praying". If he is surprised and says that this answer contradicts the proposition that Allah is above, then just answer that the contradiction arises because you misunderstood the postulates in the context of a physical location, not symbolically. If he insists on interpreting the expression in front of people praying as knowledge and supervision of Allah, then just tell him that all intelligent people know that Allah's knowledge and supervision is not only in front of people praying, but also behind him, beside him and also under and above him. . Thus he hopes that he will realize that he and his teachers have misunderstood thinking that it is all about God's location, but it is not.
