Day-822-Freewrite Monday Prompt Oatmeal

I'm not a big oatmeal eater so I bought these oatmeal and fruit cups for a quick breakfast, when I'm in a hurry. All you do is microwave for about 2½-3 minutes and eat away. They say it's better than not eating breakfast, but I would rather have a couple of Pop Tarts instead. Of course my favorite Sunday breakfast is pancakes or waffles with lotsa syrup and bacon, the perfect meal for someone on a diet. Maybe I can talk Debbie into pancakes this Sunday if I take her for a pedi on Saturday. 🤔 We had a big MLK march in San Antonio today and the attendance was fabulous, one of our city's largest. If only we could get along the other 364 days of the year! 🙏

My mother eats oatmeal EVERY DAY and would gladly share your least favorite breakfast!
I'm not sure why we didn't eat it much while growing up. Maybe it's an Italian thing. 😁

I haven't had a pop tart in over fifty years. I think I would not like them today. I'll take the bacon though!

Well, it seems to me that your favorite breakfast is more inviting than a pot of oatmeal. However, do not underestimate the nutritive power of oats. I grew up eating oatmeal with bread and butter for breakfast, and I loved to chop the bread up and put it on my plate, sometimes putting banana slices on it. I still like that, but I don't eat it often. Here in Venezuela milk and oatmeal are very expensive these days.
